The Attack Readiness Insights Specialist partners with product, data engineering, cybersecurity, risk, and business stakeholders to design, develop, and deliver reporting, dashboards, scorecards, and visualizations that support attack readiness decision-making. This role transforms governed security data into actionable insights for executive, risk, security, application-owner, and developer audiences.
The Specialist applies advanced reporting, visualization, and business intelligence expertise to understand business needs, define reporting requirements, validate data quality, and deliver intuitive reporting experiences. The role serves as a trusted advisor on reporting strategy, user experience, visualization design, and security metrics while supporting ongoing reporting operations and continuous improvement initiatives.
Core Responsibilities
Reporting Strategy and Business Partnership
- Engage with leaders, product owners, security teams, and business stakeholders to understand objectives, key decisions, reporting needs, and success measures.
- Leverage deep understanding of cybersecurity, risk, and business priorities to anticipate reporting requirements and recommend reporting strategies that support decision-making.
- Translate complex business, security, and operational requirements into reporting specifications, dashboard designs, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Communicate report findings, trends, risks, and opportunities to technical and non-technical audiences through presentations, visualizations, and written reporting.
Dashboard Development and Visualization
- Design, develop, and maintain complex dashboards, scorecards, visualizations, and reporting solutions using approved enterprise reporting platforms.
- Apply visualization, usability, accessibility, and user-experience best practices to create intuitive and actionable reporting experiences.
- Develop reusable reporting components, design standards, and visualization patterns that improve consistency and efficiency across reporting products.

Data Management and Quality Assurance
- Acquire, compile, validate, and analyze structured and unstructured data from approved enterprise sources.
- Verify data quality, completeness, accuracy, consistency, and reasonableness and partner with data engineering teams to resolve identified issues.
- Define and communicate data requirements including required dimensions, measures, metrics, history, refresh cadence, and performance expectations.
- Perform data validation, reconciliation, and testing to ensure reporting outputs accurately reflect approved business and security metrics.
Reporting Operations and Continuous Improvement
- Own and manage recurring reporting processes, reporting schedules, dashboard maintenance, and production support activities.
- Design and develop high-complexity ad hoc reports and analyses to address emerging stakeholder questions and business needs.
- Identify opportunities to enhance reporting capabilities through automation, process improvements, standardization, and reusable reporting assets.
- Monitor dashboard performance, investigate reporting issues, optimize queries, and implement improvements to improve reliability and user experience.
- Develop and maintain reporting documentation, metric definitions, data dictionaries, user guides, and operational procedures.
Reporting Expertise and Community Development
- Act as a subject matter expert for reporting, visualization, dashboard design, and security metrics within the organization.
- Review reporting solutions, calculations, and analytical approaches developed by peers and provide guidance on best practices.
- Coach and mentor team members on reporting technologies, visualization techniques, dashboard design, and data literacy.
- Stay informed on advancements in reporting technologies, cybersecurity reporting trends, business intelligence capabilities, and visualization practices.
- Contribute to the development of the broader reporting community by sharing knowledge, participating in forums, and promoting reporting standards and best practices.

- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in business intelligence, reporting, analytics, data visualization, or a related field.

- Strong understanding of reporting design, information architecture, data visualization principles, and user experience concepts.
