Hands-on Principal Software Engineer responsible for architecting, developing, integrating, testing, and debugging software for semiconductor test platforms. The role involves C#/.NET, Python, distributed systems, APIs, messaging, data services, equipment drivers, firmware and hardware integration, secure platform services, and test orchestration. The engineer will lead architecture through production deployment, troubleshoot system-level issues, work with customers and global teams, mentor engineers, and conduct design and code reviews while remaining deeply involved in coding.

Design and develop analog and mixed-signal ASICs for high-precision voltage and current source applications in automated test equipment. Responsibilities include defining ASIC concepts and specifications, simulating and optimizing analog circuits, performing laboratory prototype bring-up and characterization, and developing basic software for automated measurements. The role collaborates across engineering disciplines and supports delivery from initial concept through silicon integration.

Drives quality improvements across semiconductor test-system production, field operations, suppliers, and customers. Responsibilities include failure analysis, issue trend analysis using Power BI, MRB participation, root-cause investigations, CAPA, FMEA, process and design reviews, and effectiveness verification. The role collaborates with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Service, Operations, and Program Management teams to resolve recurring defects and improve processes, documentation, product quality, and customer satisfaction.

Designs, develops, integrates, tests, and debugs software for semiconductor test platforms, including SLT, Burn-In, and HPC systems. Builds applications, SDKs, drivers, APIs, messaging services, data pipelines, and equipment-control software. Integrates software with hardware, firmware, instrumentation, and thermal systems; supports secure on-premises services and production deployment. Leads architecture, code reviews, customer integration, and technical mentoring while remaining highly hands-on.

Designs and maintains automated semiconductor test solutions across SLT, Burn-In, HPC, ATE, validation, and manufacturing platforms. Develops test programs and tools, defines validation methodologies, performs electrical and thermal characterization, analyzes yield and device data, and debugs hardware and system issues using laboratory instrumentation. Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing teams to support product introduction, readiness, customer integration, and production ramp.

Provides technical support for semiconductor test systems by troubleshooting field issues, diagnosing system and component faults, analyzing field performance, supporting installations and repairs, writing test plans and incident reports, developing documentation, training field service personnel, and serving as a technical liaison for customers and suppliers. The role requires domestic and international travel, cross-functional project participation, and onsite work in Lake Forest, California.

Designs, tests, and qualifies electro-mechanical hardware subsystems for semiconductor and electronic-device handling and testing. Responsibilities include creating detailed drawings and bills of materials, conducting design reviews, developing test protocols, analyzing failures, implementing design changes, and creating fixtures and test equipment. The engineer collaborates with manufacturing, quality, suppliers, customers, and cross-functional product teams in an on-site environment.

Assures the quality and reliability of PCBA manufacturing across outsourced suppliers. Leads root-cause investigations for manufacturing and field failures, coordinates corrective and preventive actions, identifies DFM and DFT risks during NPI, supports test coverage strategies, and analyzes manufacturing, yield, repair, test, and reliability data to drive process improvements.

Develops and optimizes automated test solutions on Advantest V93000 systems for digital, mixed-signal, PAC, and RF devices. Responsibilities include Java-based test programming, test correlation, fault-coverage improvement, DUT board design and consulting, customer solution planning, project coordination, and technical training. The role collaborates with account teams, sales, customers, and internal engineering groups to deliver solutions and transfer knowledge.

Develop and support semiconductor test applications using Advantest products, including debugging, production releases, yield improvement, test-time reduction, troubleshooting, customer training, and account support. Analyze customer requirements, develop competitive test solutions, manage projects, perform device correlation, and release test programs at customer sites. The role requires semiconductor test engineering experience, programming knowledge, and strong customer communication skills.
