Leads strategy, vision, roadmap, and outcomes for a strategic SMB product area within a two-sided marketplace. Identifies opportunities through research, market insights, and data; manages complex cross-functional initiatives; defines go-to-market plans and KPIs; and drives alignment across Product, Engineering, Design, Data, Commercial, and senior leadership. Champions innovation, including AI applications, and establishes product management best practices across the organization.

Lead development and operation of a self-service data and ML platform, including batch and streaming pipelines, lake management, orchestration, APIs, governance, monitoring, and data quality. Build scalable Spark and Python applications on Databricks and AWS, support data product teams, optimize reliability and costs, and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Owns the enterprise architecture direction for Marktplaats, including capability mapping, target-state architecture, principles, governance, technology lifecycle, technical debt, technology radar, ADRs, and knowledge management. The role partners with product and technology leadership, coaches architects and tech leads, supports threat modeling, and aligns architecture decisions with business strategy for a large-scale consumer marketplace.

Own and improve internal IT infrastructure, cloud platforms, SaaS systems, identity and access management, endpoints, networking, and automation. Build integrations, scripts, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD workflows, and AI-enabled tooling to eliminate manual work. Manage AWS or similar cloud environments, Okta, backups, monitoring, vendor escalations, and joiner/mover/leaver processes while serving as a technical escalation point for a growing organization.

Owns day-to-day People Operations across the employee lifecycle, including HRIS administration, payroll inputs, benefits, employee data, documentation, reporting, and compliance. Partners with HR, Finance, IT, payroll, and external providers to resolve issues and improve processes. The role also redesigns workflows and applies automation and AI to reduce manual work while maintaining accurate, secure, and dependable People operations.

Own vendor and outsourcing-partner relationships and customer-service operations across support channels. Lead governance, business reviews, escalations, service delivery, SLA and quality performance, campaigns, incident and compliance management, and continuous improvement. Drive AI and automation initiatives that improve efficiency and customer experience while supporting training, knowledge sharing, and best-practice adoption. The role requires regular visits to partner contact centers and fluent Dutch.

Own the long-term architecture for search, matching, relevance, and AI experiences at marketplace scale. Define strategies for semantic search, LLM intent modeling, conversational and agentic retrieval, user memory, ranking, computer vision, and multimodal discovery. Establish GenAI guardrails, evaluation practices, and data requirements while partnering with data and product teams. Guide technology choices across Databricks, multiple LLM providers, and search infrastructure, influencing teams without direct authority.

Owns end-to-end payment allocation, cash application, direct debit collections, and accounts receivable processes. Manages unallocated cash, payment exceptions, BPO performance, escalations, compliance, audits, documentation, and OTC systems. Leads process improvements involving automation, bank reconciliation, and direct debit adoption while driving DSO reduction, improved auto-match rates, and elimination of unallocated cash. Requires strong stakeholder management, analytical, project delivery, and finance operations expertise.
