Provides strategic advice on payment capabilities within Canada’s digital trade modernization initiative. The role engages industry stakeholders, federal departments, and other organizations; assesses payment requirements, dependencies, and solution approaches; develops policy papers, presentations, and briefing materials; and supports alignment across technology, policy, and business stakeholders. The successful candidate will bring payments digitization expertise, knowledge of ISO standards and back-end processing, change initiative experience, and strong strategic communication skills.

Owns the technical and statistical integrity of payment data analytics workflows. Responsibilities include SQL and Python data ingestion, transformation, validation, quality controls, feature engineering, time-series analysis, model readiness, back-testing support, GCP analytics environment management, workflow automation, documentation, and translating findings for product and executive stakeholders.

Provides strategic legal advice to Payments Canada on legislation, banking and payments law, regulatory oversight, corporate and commercial matters, intellectual property, technology, fintech, contracts, and organizational policies. The role conducts legal research, drafts and negotiates agreements, assesses risks, supports projects and business operations, protects solicitor-client privilege, improves legal processes, and mentors colleagues. Candidates must be Ontario lawyers in good standing with at least three years of post-call corporate law experience.

The Senior Compliance Officer manages member and corporate compliance programs, including regulatory guidance, membership applications, investigations, incident reviews, compliance reporting, by-law support, executive attestations, training, and process improvements. The role collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, advises on risks and contraventions, prepares recommendations and Board materials, and supports legislative and regulatory compliance across Payments Canada.

Develop and govern enterprise security architecture, roadmaps, policies, standards, reference architectures, and secure solution designs. Lead threat modeling, risk assessment, compliance, and resilience initiatives aligned with ISO, NIST, financial regulations, and cyber threats. Collaborate with business leaders, technical teams, vendors, and payment ecosystem stakeholders; facilitate working groups; present architectural recommendations; mentor security professionals; and mature the organization’s security architecture function.

Supports information security compliance through control assessments, evidence gathering, audit support, exception reviews, regulatory reporting, third-party risk assessments, policy governance, and secure-by-design reviews. Tracks findings and remediation actions, maintains compliance documentation, prepares management reports, and collaborates with stakeholders across security, technology, procurement, legal, privacy, and project teams. The role applies frameworks including ISO 27001, NIST, SWIFT CSP, and related financial-sector regulations and standards.
