This summer HR internship supports process innovation, change management, HR strategic initiatives, employee engagement, and corporate business functions. The intern will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and professionals across departments, build HR and business skills, contribute to impactful projects, and participate in networking activities with peers and leadership. The role is hybrid and runs full-time from June 1 through August 6, 2027.

Supports ONE Gas corporate communications through writing and editing internal and external materials, media relations, web and social media content, storytelling, publications, and stakeholder communications. Collaborates with subject matter experts and team leaders to develop digital content and communications supporting corporate strategies. The hybrid internship includes cross-department projects, networking opportunities, and professional development.

Supports construction and maintenance operations by reviewing project documentation, reconciling contractor invoices, processing accounting records, preparing reports, communicating with field and engineering teams, and assisting with financial forecasting. Uses multiple enterprise applications to verify data, document project completion, process invoices, track materials and compliance records, and prepare corrections and journal entries.

Develops residential, commercial, and industrial market growth for a natural gas utility. Builds relationships with developers, architects, engineers, construction firms, and other stakeholders; originates business opportunities; implements sales and customer engagement strategies; analyzes rates, usage, and market trends; prepares service proposals; and presents information to prospects. The role also monitors territory growth, coordinates with internal teams, and requires travel to company locations and external meetings.

Participate in IT projects, analyze requirements or data, explore and prototype solutions, test and deploy technology, shadow IT professionals, learn IT processes, collaborate with business groups, and present project findings at the internship’s conclusion.

Supports month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. Assists with financial analysis, spreadsheet modeling, variance analyses, regulatory and governmental reports, financial statements, and financial metrics reporting. Interns gain hands-on experience with corporate accounting software, collaborate across departments, and participate in professional networking activities.

Leads communications for Oklahoma by serving as company spokesperson, developing reputation and crisis communications plans, securing earned media, and advising leaders on operational, regulatory, and reputational issues. Drafts audience-focused messaging, monitors media and stakeholder sentiment, identifies emerging risks, manages cross-functional initiatives, engages community stakeholders, and supports communications during service issues and outages.

Supports the AI, Data and Digital Transformation team through the data science lifecycle, including analyzing large datasets, identifying trends, developing and evaluating predictive and machine learning models, and presenting project findings and business impact. The intern will contribute to analytics and digital transformation initiatives, collaborate with team members, and gain project management, teamwork, and leadership exposure.
