Design and analyze steel and concrete structural connections for CISC and AISC projects. Responsibilities include connection and miscellaneous steel design, erection engineering, calculation development, shop drawing reviews, submittal preparation, RFI development, and 3-D BIM model review. The engineer will collaborate with project managers and teams while using structural analysis, detailing, markup, and BIM software to deliver accurate work and improve project efficiencies.

Design and analyze steel connections and miscellaneous steel; develop calculations, connection catalogs, shop drawing reviews, submittals, and design reports. Use connection/BIM software, ensure AISC/code compliance, coordinate with teams, track schedules, and meet client standards.

Lead and mentor a team delivering steel connection and stair engineering designs, ensuring code compliance, constructability, quality, and coordination with detailing, fabrication, and project teams across Canadian and U.S. projects.

Support the project manager in planning and daily coordination of steel detailing projects: track status, manage documents and databases, coordinate with fabricators/engineers/architects, handle RFIs and change orders, prepare and deliver drawing packages, and ensure schedules, quality, and client requirements are met.

Design and analyze steel connections and miscellaneous steel for steel and concrete structures. Develop calculations, review shop drawings and 3-D BIM models, prepare submittals and RFIs, and use connection analysis and detailing software to support project delivery and erection engineering.

Participate in a 6-month training program to learn structural and miscellaneous steel detailing using Tekla Structures. Complete assigned readings, videos, models, quizzes, and knowledge-base study. Collaborate with project teams to produce accurate detailing while following JMT standards and industry manuals. Ask questions and actively engage in learning to prepare for detailing work.

Lead connection design for steel structures, prepare connection catalogs, perform calculations and design reports, review shop drawings and 3D BIM models, manage delivery schedules, coordinate cross-functional teams, and supervise a team of 5–10 engineers to ensure AISC and client standards compliance.

Review and verify steel detailing models and drawings (Tekla/IFC) against project specifications, prepare and track RFIs, ensure material/finish/connection standards (AISC, welds, bolts), perform clash and erection feasibility checks, and coordinate with modelers, editors, and document control to release accurate shop, GA, and erection drawings.
