Lead systems engineering for advanced naval platforms across requirements, architecture, configuration, interfaces, verification, and validation. Establish engineering governance and lifecycle strategies, manage traceability in Siemens Teamcenter, develop compliance evidence, and provide technical leadership across stakeholders. The role is based in Bristol with hybrid working and occasional travel.

Manage procurement of materials, equipment, components, and services for shipbuilding projects. Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, control costs, mitigate supply chain risks, process purchase orders, track deliveries, and monitor inventory. Collaborate with project, engineering, and production teams to forecast needs, ensure compliance, review supplier performance, and identify savings. The role may also involve mentoring Buyers and supporting procurement process improvements.

Supports commercial management of complex defense and maritime bids, contracts, and client accounts. Responsibilities include bid-phase commercial planning, customer and subcontract negotiations, supply-chain coordination, contract compliance, budget and profitability oversight, commercial risk mitigation, claims and variations support, and stakeholder engagement. The role also assists with strategic commercial planning and ongoing contract changes.

Partner with operational and commercial teams to lead budgets, forecasts, and long-term planning. Build financial models, deliver P&L/cash flow/KPI reporting, perform variance analysis, support financial close, and improve financial processes and reporting frameworks to inform strategic decisions.

Drive strategic sourcing, negotiate high‑value contracts, integrate ERP and document systems, manage supplier performance and risk, support programme delivery and cost optimisation, and develop multi‑site procurement teams.

Lead definition, integration and assurance of ship automation, control and monitoring systems. Own architectures, specifications, supplier interfaces, I/O lists, hazard analysis and systems engineering activities, and support digital twins and simulation while mentoring junior engineers.
