We’re Hiring: Procurement Officer  – Methil

Navantia UK is expanding, and we’re looking for a skilled Procurement Officer to join our growing team in Methil. If you thrive in a fast‑paced environment, enjoy building strong supplier relationships, and want to play a key role in delivering high‑quality projects, we’d love to hear from you.

As a Procurement Officer, you’ll take ownership of the full procurement cycle — from sourcing and tendering to negotiation, contract award, and supplier performance management. You’ll work closely with colleagues across projects, legal, finance, and operations to ensure we secure the right subcontractors, services, and goods at the best value, while upholding our commitment to compliance, quality, and responsible procurement.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Managing the end‑to‑end procurement process for subcontracted works, services, and goods.
  • Preparing and issuing RFPs, RFQs, and contracts.
  • Assessing subcontractor proposals, capabilities, and performance to ensure alignment with project needs.
  • Leading negotiations to secure competitive pricing and robust contractual terms.
  • Monitoring contract delivery, performance, and compliance requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate procurement records for reporting and audit purposes.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to align procurement strategy with project objectives.
  • Conducting market research, identifying new suppliers/partners, and benchmarking pricing and trends.
  • Supporting colleagues on procurement policies, processes, and best practices.
  • Identifying and managing supplier‑related risks, including financial, operational, and compliance factors.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience in procurement, ideally within subcontracting or services procurement.
  • Strong understanding of procurement principles, contract management, and compliance frameworks.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement systems and tools (SAP experience is a plus).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build positive relationships.
  • Highly organised, detail‑focused, and able to manage multiple priorities within tight timelines.

Your Background

  • Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Professional procurement certification (CIPS, CPM) is desirable.
  • Broad professional experience or equivalent knowledge gained through similar roles.

Why Navantia UK?

You’ll join a collaborative, supportive, and innovative team where your development, ideas, and contribution genuinely matter. This role offers the chance to further your procurement expertise while helping shape major programmes that support the UK’s maritime and industrial future.
