Responsibilities include implementing features, fixing bugs, improving simulation workflow usability, maintaining Python and SimPy components, enhancing automated testing and documentation, and supporting new simulation capabilities. The intern will collaborate with simulation engineers, software developers, AI specialists, and users while gaining practical experience in software engineering, simulation, optimization, and maritime operations.

Conduct research on accelerating weather-adaptive discrete event simulations for offshore operations. Review model reduction, approximation, uncertainty quantification, and workability assessment techniques; analyze existing simulation models; implement selected approaches in Python; and compare accuracy, robustness, and computational performance. Develop engineering-use-case demonstrations and present findings to technical and business stakeholders while collaborating with AI, simulation, metocean, and offshore planning experts.

The Commercial Manager will drive business development for subsea cables by monitoring offshore renewables and interconnector markets, analyzing competitors, tracking vessel and project activity, and identifying opportunities. The role supports tendering, negotiations, customer intelligence, opportunity pipelines, and commercial strategy while building long-term relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders. International travel and collaboration across the organization are required.

Leads offshore mobilisations and demobilisations, reviews deck, lift, and mobilisation plans, verifies equipment certification and testing, and performs project engineering duties during offshore operations. Supports the onshore Remote Operations Centre, leads offshore engineering activities when connectivity fails, monitors subcontractor performance, oversees installation sequences and procedures, and maintains controlled project documentation. The role is primarily offshore on DSVs or CSVs, with occasional Aberdeen office work.

Manages commercial relationships, market intelligence, competitor analysis, vessel and project tracking, business development, opportunity pipelines, tender support, negotiations, and client partnerships for subsea cable projects. The role translates offshore renewables and interconnector market insights into commercial strategies and supports international project acquisition. It is based primarily in Papendrecht with international client travel as required.
