Design, specify, integrate, and commission instrumentation and I/O for a stellarator. Work includes sensor selection, I/O architecture, P&ID and cable documentation, signal conditioning, EMI/EMC mitigation, DAQ/PLC/embedded interfaces, hardware selection, field commissioning, calibration, and cross-team coordination to support plasma, cryogenics, vacuum, magnet, power, and safety systems.

Lead design and development of embedded control and data-acquisition electronics for power and control systems. Tasks include schematic capture, PCB layout, component selection, prototype bring-up, debugging, signal integrity and isolation design, and cross-functional integration with firmware, power electronics, and diagnostics teams to ensure reliable, high-performance control hardware.

Develop, validate, and deploy real-time plasma control algorithms and state estimation for a stellarator. Build AI/ML-assisted controllers, anomaly detection, and digital twins; maintain data pipelines, simulations, and integrate code into low-latency control stacks for experimental operation.

Contract Talent Sourcer responsible for sourcing and engaging passive engineering and scientific talent, building scalable sourcing infrastructure, delivering high-touch candidate experiences, partnering with the VP of People and hiring managers, managing high-volume technical searches, and representing Thea Energy to senior, specialized candidates.

Provide high-level support to the CEO and executive team: manage calendars, schedule meetings and travel, triage communications, draft and proofread materials, track action items and follow-ups, coordinate events and offsites, and lead special projects to ensure smooth executive operations.

Manage end-to-end procurement from requisition to payment, optimize procurement processes, negotiate and manage suppliers, forecast prototyping demand with engineering and finance, analyze spending to reduce costs, monitor supplier performance, and support budgeting and FP&A activities to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of critical equipment and supplies.

Partner with People leadership to manage the employee lifecycle at a fast-growing hardtech startup: lead employee relations and investigations, run performance management and L&D programs, support compensation and benefits, ensure HR operations and compliance (including OSHA), drive engagement and DEI initiatives, and implement HR data and systems.

Own corporate accounting operations including month‑end/year‑end close, GL management, AP and procurement oversight, ERP and PO integration, financial reporting, grant and R&D tax credit administration, multi‑state tax compliance, internal controls, and audit readiness to support FP&A, investors, and tax incentive optimization.

Design, build, and test HTS magnets; develop specifications and optimize designs with multiphysics simulation; create design tools and analysis software (Python); support manufacturing, tooling, vendor collaboration, and magnet testing; track program milestones and communicate with stakeholders.
