The role maintains legal records, manages CLM and related systems, coordinates external counsel, tracks deadlines, prepares legal documents and reports, supports audits and training, and engages with internal and external stakeholders in a multicultural environment.

Provides comprehensive in-house legal counsel for CIMMYT headquarters and global operations. Responsibilities include contract lifecycle management, multijurisdictional legal advice, regulatory compliance, legal risk assessment, corporate governance, policy development, legal research, stakeholder training, and representation before authorities. The role supports departments including Research, Finance, HR, Procurement, and Operations while advising senior legal leadership on complex matters. Based in Texcoco, Mexico, the position requires English and Spanish fluency and at least eight years of progressively responsible in-house legal experience.

Support institutional budgeting and expense analysis: prepare templates, upload budgets to Dynamics AX/365, monitor Budget vs Actuals, produce monthly/quarterly reports, perform midyear revisions, maintain master data, manage large Excel databases, develop KPIs and reporting formats, support IMRP variance explanations, and respond to ad-hoc financial information requests while collaborating across units.

Lead and coordinate business services across CIMMYT India and BISA India, overseeing inventory, warehouses, procurement, logistics, fleet, travel, facilities, governance, and risk management. Implement scalable processes, enforce internal controls, support D365 rollout, supervise field operations teams, ensure compliance and OHS for agrochemical handling, and provide operational reporting and contingency planning across multi-location research stations.

Lead end-to-end HR operations for CIMMYT India: recruitment, onboarding, payroll coordination, benefits administration, performance management, training, compliance with Indian labor law, employee relations, and HR database maintenance. Act as strategic HR partner to program leaders and oversee HR analyst support.

Provide regional operational analytics and BI for BSD functions across Asia: build dashboards, extract and analyze D365/ERP data, monitor procurement, fleet, travel, inventory, support strategic projects, governance, compliance, training, and stakeholder coordination to enable data-driven decisions and process improvements.

Provide contract lifecycle and legal operations support for the Asia region: draft and manage agreements, maintain matter files and trackers, operate ticketing and CLM systems, coordinate external counsel, prepare meetings and reports, handle administrative tasks (expenses, travel, procurement), and support rollout and adoption of legal tools and process improvements under the Regional Legal Counsel.
