CIMMYT seeks dynamic with orientation to results, and with leadership skills professionals for the position of Senior Manager FP&A Unit to be part of the Finance Department.  

The Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis Unit (FPU) leads CIMMYT's institutional budgeting, management reporting, costing, chargeback, and financial planning functions, and is accountable for the accuracy, timeliness, and quality of budget, forecast, and cost-allocation information used for institutional decision-making, donor compliance, and financial sustainability.

The role serves as the primary escalation point and technical authority for institutional budget policy, the Costing Manual, and chargeback rates, and represents the Financial Planning Unit before Finance leadership, Budget Holders, Regional Offices, and other institutional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and take overall accountability for CIMMYT’s institutional annual budget, forecast, midyear revision, costing, and chargeback processes, ensuring compliance with IFRS, NIF, CGIAR, and donor requirements.
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership to the Financial Planning Unit, directly managing the Budget and Costing Manager and the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Manager.
  • Own and maintain institutional budget policy, the Costing Manual, and the chargeback rate-setting methodology across HQ, enabling units, and Regional Offices.
  • Provide functional oversight and coordination of the Senior Finance Transformation & Budgeting Solutions Lead consultant.
  • Responsible for External financial reporting of the CGIAR Science programs;
  • Serve as a senior business owner for budgeting and costing data and systems within Microsoft Dynamics 365, ensuring data integrity, governance, and institutional master data quality.
  • Represent the Financial Planning Unit before Finance leadership, Budget Holders, Regional Offices, and other institutional stakeholders.


Requirements
  • Master's degree in finance, Financial Controlling, Accounting, Business Administration with finance specialization, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting or finance qualification desirable (CPA, ACCA, CMA, CFA, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 10–12 years of progressive experience in budgeting, financial planning, costing/cost allocation, and financial and accounting management, including experience leading or managing teams.
  • Demonstrated experience managing or supervising managers or team leads within a finance function.
  • Strong knowledge of financial systems, ERP platforms (preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365), databases, and data extraction and reporting tools.
  • Demonstrated experience in institutional budget processes, cost accounting, indirect cost recovery, and chargeback methodologies, with experience overseeing system implementation or finance transformation initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in English (minimum C1 level); ability to work with different nationalities and as part of a diverse, international team.
