Handles legal documents, forms, letters, files, correspondence, and related records. Applies established officer procedures and judgment daily while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality. The role requires U.S. citizenship and successful completion of a strenuous background investigation.

Provides administrative, clerical, research, customer service, and project-based support for Richland County’s Grants and Community Outreach Department. Assists with HUD grant management, CDBG funding processes, small business grant development, database review, records requests, reporting, and coordination with county departments, nonprofits, businesses, and the public. Works under direct supervision in an on-site government office.

Leads Richland County’s information security program, including development and enforcement of security standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines across diverse technology environments. Oversees data protection and infrastructure security, collaborates with business systems and GIS teams, advises department leaders, and coordinates with risk, legal, HR, finance, auditors, consultants, and vendors. GIAC certification must be attained within the first year.

Provides voter registration, absentee ballot, and early voting services; processes applications and maintains voter rolls. Responds to public inquiries, performs clerical and data-entry duties, prepares legal documents and confidential reports, and conducts basic GIS-related election data research and analysis while following applicable laws and procedures.

Manage grant financial administration from award setup through closeout, including budgets, reconciliations, journal entries, reimbursement requests, drawdowns, and compliance reporting. Monitor expenditures for allowability and regulatory compliance, resolve discrepancies, support audits and Single Audits, coordinate amendments and budget revisions, and advise departments on grant accounting. Maintain complete records, strengthen internal controls, and manage multiple grants with competing deadlines.

Prepares and prosecutes criminal cases, including investigations, hearings, trials, negotiations, legal research, warrants, motions, indictments, and other documents. Advises law enforcement, supports victims’ rights compliance, supervises support staff, coordinates office activities, responds to public inquiries, presents community education, and maintains case records and reports. The position requires 24/7 on-call availability.

Provides administrative and secretarial support for a Probate Judge’s office, including scheduling hearings, maintaining calendars, preparing legal documents, managing case files and records, entering case information, handling correspondence and mail, answering calls, assisting visitors, compiling reports, and responding to public and employee inquiries.

Reviews site plans and map amendment applications for zoning compliance, issues permits and reports, answers public inquiries, conducts field checks, supports Planning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals, maintains zoning records, and assists taxpayers and developers with allowable land uses.

Manages the Sheriff's Department's IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, telecommunications, disaster recovery, maintenance contracts, and technical standards. Oversees FBI CJIS Security Plan compliance, coordinates with county IT, department divisions, consultants, and vendors, and supervises a PC/LAN Specialist III.

Manages internal and external communications, graphic design, social media strategy, public engagement, and community storytelling for the County. Creates branded campaigns and materials, writes and edits public information, coordinates media and community events, supervises a Social Media Specialist, prepares departmental reports, and supports media inquiries and digital content. Requires collaboration with County departments, partners, media, and the public, along with occasional evening and weekend work.
