Leads complex engineering projects and technical work packages from planning through execution. Design and analyze marine vehicle hydrodynamics, aerodynamics, flight dynamics, and control concepts. Design, assemble, and operate water tunnel and field experiments; perform hands-on fluid testing; analyze and present technical results; and collaborate with engineers, researchers, and faculty. Higher-level responsibilities include project management, proposal development, technical publication, presentations, and external research relationship development.

Design and develop architectures for complex, multi-domain defense systems. Responsibilities include modular system decomposition, requirements analysis, functional allocation, interface definition, trade studies, architecture documentation, integration strategy, and verification planning. The engineer collaborates across disciplines, communicates technical recommendations, supports stakeholders, and may mentor engineers, track budgets, and represent the organization in technical reviews. The role is primarily on-site in State College, Pennsylvania, with project-dependent hybrid options and periodic travel.

Supports materials research and development through CNC and manual machining, fabrication, mechanical testing, equipment setup, maintenance, calibration, and robotics-based manufacturing processes. Documents procedures and process parameters, interprets engineering drawings and GD&T, coordinates machine shop activities, gathers test data, communicates project progress, and supports laboratory and field experimentation. The fully onsite role also contributes to safety, equipment tracking, continuous improvement, and periodic remote-site travel.

Coordinates day-to-day graduate program administration, including student records, admissions materials, onboarding, degree tracking, recruitment, visits, communications, funding allocations, scholarships, appointments, budgets, travel reimbursements, and recruitment events. Maintains confidential files and university systems, prepares committee information, monitors graduate requirements, and provides support with minimal supervision while exercising discretion and independent judgment.

Develop 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, tolerance analyses, and GD&T documentation for mechanical systems. Collaborate with engineers to define requirements and conceptual designs, create assembly and test procedures, and assemble, integrate, and test hardware. Support field testing through preparation, execution, troubleshooting, and performance evaluation. Leads technical project execution within complex mission systems programs, managing scope, schedules, budgets, deliverables, risks, resources, configuration control, and stakeholder reporting. Coordinates engineering and operations teams, technical reviews, system integration, sponsor evaluations, and transition of research technologies into field-ready systems. Higher-level assignments include staff allocation, performance analysis, mentoring or supervision, earned-value tracking, and proposal support. The position is fully on-site and supports defense and federal government customers.

Supports applied engineering research involving semiconductor, optical, and piezoelectric materials; substrate fabrication, materials and electrical characterization, mechanical and environmental testing, furnace processing, ceramic processing, and electronics-focused additive manufacturing. Works on-site with scientists and engineers, maintains detailed records, uses hand tools and Microsoft Office, and contributes effectively to project teams. Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain a government security clearance.

Provides executive administrative support to the Associate Vice President of Primary Giving, including calendar management, travel, expenses, communications, budgeting, meetings, reporting, and confidential duties. Supervises and trains administrative staff, coordinates workflows, maintains records and databases, supports office and facilities needs, resolves inquiries, and ensures policy compliance across the Primary Giving team.
