Supports the Human Resources team with recruitment, candidate screening, interview coordination, onboarding, employee records, engagement initiatives, training materials, communications, HR projects, and administrative operations. The intern gains exposure to payroll, compensation, benefits, compliance, and other Total Rewards processes while collaborating with HR and cross-functional teams. This is a 40-hour-per-week summer internship based in Reno, Nevada, lasting approximately ten weeks, with occasional travel to offices, project sites, or vendors.

Supports process engineering through experimental design, pilot plant operation, troubleshooting, sampling, data recording, analysis, reporting, and process improvement for lithium extraction and processing. Assists with laboratory and piloting methods, equipment assembly and maintenance, and safe operations while collaborating across technical teams.

Supports mechanical engineering activities for plant equipment and systems, including inspections, troubleshooting, commissioning, startup, equipment data analysis, engineering calculations, drawings, documentation, reliability improvements, and vendor coordination. The role provides hands-on experience in an industrial lithium processing and construction environment while emphasizing safety, operational readiness, and collaboration with engineering, operations, maintenance, and construction teams.

Supports process engineers with plant performance analysis, mass and energy balances, technical reporting, process documentation, safety activities, commissioning, and operational support. The intern collaborates with operations, maintenance, EHS, and quality teams at an industrial lithium processing facility while following OSHA, MSHA, environmental, and site-specific safety requirements.

Supports ESG reporting and corporate communications by drafting presentations, speaking notes, digital content, newsletters, and social media copy. Assists with website updates, media monitoring, sustainability data analysis, peer benchmarking, ESG research, and coordination of the annual ESG report. Collaborates across corporate and site teams and contributes to communications deliverables, reporting frameworks, and sustainability initiatives.

Provides administrative and operational support to the Thacker Pass site and management team. Responsibilities include travel and meeting coordination, expense and invoice processing, SAP purchase requisitions, document control, office operations, HR onboarding support, records management, correspondence, supplies, and liaison with other offices. The role requires strong organization, communication, confidentiality, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in an active-site environment.

Administers commercial contracts, service agreements, MSAs, supply agreements, scopes of work, and task orders. Coordinates reviews with Legal, Finance, EHS, Procurement, and technical teams; manages amendments, renewals, budgets, compliance documentation, contractor performance, KPIs, disputes, audits, and contract records. Supports negotiations, invoice validation, supplier relationship management, reporting, and alignment of contract terms with sourcing activities.

Support site and corporate FP&A for Thacker Pass through budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, cost accounting, KPI and capital project reporting, SOX control support, and business partnering with operations.

Support the Safety Manager to develop and implement site H&S programs for Thacker Pass, conduct audits/inspections, deliver MSHA/OSHA training, manage permits (confined space, LOTO, excavation), perform hazard assessments and industrial hygiene monitoring, investigate incidents, oversee PPE/lockout programs, and drive continuous safety improvements during construction, commissioning, and production.

Manage electronic documents and records for the Thacker Pass site using Hexagon SDX and related systems. Implement and maintain document control policies, access rights, revision controls, and review matrices. Support searches, transmittals, audits, onboarding/offboarding, and integration of document management tools while ensuring compliance, data integrity, and collaboration with engineering and operations teams.
