Support the Transport Manager by overseeing 24/7 depot transport operations, managing and developing staff, controlling maintenance and fuel budgets, ensuring fleet availability and regulatory compliance, liaising with third-party hauliers and suppliers, driving continuous improvement and attending customer reviews when required.

Provide on-site operational and administrative support for transport operations: check drivers in/out, dispatch drivers, manage transport systems and tracking, download digital tachographs, complete compliance paperwork and KPI/internal reporting, and maintain accurate manning and trailer records.

Support senior leadership on colleague engagement and retention across warehouse, transport, stock and admin. Manage onboarding, training access, internal communications, feedback escalation, engagement initiatives, site meetings, and weekly headcount reviews to align recruitment with shift requirements.

Manage warehouse inbound/outbound scheduling and paperwork, coordinate drivers and transport providers, issue instructions to staff, communicate issues to shift managers, maintain on-site systems knowledge, and produce detailed shift handovers to ensure efficient, accurate operations and timely collections/deliveries.

Lead end-to-end month, quarter and year-end close across a multi-entity environment; ensure balance sheet integrity and controls; oversee complex accounting (IFRS/UK GAAP), intercompany, statutory accounts and audits; coach and develop the R2R team; drive process improvement, standardisation and automation.

Plan and schedule drivers and vehicles to meet delivery/collection deadlines, create and update daily run summaries, manage driver rotas and hours, ensure legal and safety compliance (MOTs, defects, drivers' hours), maintain clear driver communications, support disciplinary and return-to-work processes, and coordinate with other departments to sustain service levels.

Supervise day-to-day depot operations and shifts, manage vehicles/trailers and maintenance, perform daily checks and risk assessments, coach drivers and staff, support payroll and KPI reporting, assist recruitment and training, and escalate site maintenance and safety issues to management.

Lead design and delivery of commercially competitive warehouse and transport solutions for tender responses. Analyse tender data, model resources and finances, prepare P&L and presentations, liaise with operations and stakeholders, manage subcontract quotes, and support contract implementation and team development.

Coordinate workshop administration: process invoices and POs, maintain compliance trackers and reports, schedule trailers, liaise with fleet, provide general admin support and cover manager as needed.

Lead growth across priority accounts by developing account strategies, deepening customer partnerships, identifying upsell/cross-sell opportunities, running business reviews, managing KPIs, and leading cross-functional teams to convert complex opportunities into sustained commercial growth.
