Adjusts and defends liability claims and lawsuits by reviewing coverage, investigating facts, determining liability, evaluating damages, setting reserves, negotiating settlements, and directing defense counsel. The examiner analyzes policy, legal, medical, property, and business documents; maintains accurate claim files and diaries; communicates with insureds, brokers, attorneys, and claimants; and may travel locally while maintaining required state licenses.
