The Staff IT Operations Engineer will lead IT operations, manage IT assets, and improve service efficiency while supporting business needs.

Design and implement a durable, highly available (5-6 nines) distributed workflow execution platform. Lead architecture, integrate AI/ML for automation, solve distributed locking/timers/determinism, ensure observability, and collaborate with product teams to support large-scale, long-running workflows.

Lead design and execution of performance management strategy and cycles (OKRs, calibration, reviews). Partner with HRBPs and business leaders to deliver training, analyze performance data, provide insights, and continuously improve tools and processes to drive a high-performance culture.

Lead company-wide, technically complex programs end-to-end: define strategy, translate data and system analysis into business requirements, drive engineering through SDLC, prioritize platform and non-functional improvements, and influence senior leaders to achieve quarterly and annual goals with strong metrics-driven execution.

Lead architecture and implementation of Tier-1 fulfilment systems handling real-time order planning, optimization, inventory allocation, and network cost management. Write and review production Kotlin/Java code, ensure low-latency solver integration, drive reliability and observability, collaborate with Product and Data Science, and mentor engineers to scale systems and prevent incidents.

Build and deploy large-scale ML systems for search, ranking, and personalization. Process billions of events and petabytes of logs into consumable features, train transformer and embedding models, serve models in real time, track impact metrics, and collaborate cross-functionally while mentoring engineers.

Lead strategy and execution for crisis, policy, and reputational communications. Advise senior leaders, manage rapid response and advocacy campaigns, build crisis frameworks, coordinate cross-functional messaging, and lead executive media strategies to protect and advance company policy objectives.

Lead development of persuasive narratives, op-eds, speeches, and executive communications on public policy, regulatory, economic, and geopolitical issues. Advise senior leaders, prepare congressional and media materials, monitor policy developments, conduct research and analysis, and partner with Public Policy, Legal, and Communications teams to align messaging and position executives as thought leaders.

Lead Coupang's U.S. digital policy communications strategy, overseeing corporate digital assets, paid media, rapid-response and crisis communications, and editorial governance; translate complex policy into digital content; manage teams and agencies; measure performance and drive innovation to support public policy, advocacy, and brand objectives.

Design, build, deploy, and maintain large-scale workflow platform infrastructure (e.g., Temporal, Netflix Conductor). Ensure 99.995% reliability, capacity planning, benchmarking, monitoring/alerting, production incident response, and collaborate to make the platform extensible for high-throughput, low-latency backend services.
