The Staff Accountant manages daily accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, payroll, banking, accounts payable and receivable, and month-end close. The role supports nonprofit grant accounting, budgeting, billing, financial reporting, audits, cost allocation, fixed asset records, and compliance with GAAP, Uniform Guidance, funder requirements, and internal policies. The position also advises program staff on fiscal procedures and maintains accurate, audit-ready records.

Accurately enters and updates family, health, education, attendance, volunteer, and service information in computer systems and databases. Compiles reports, resolves missing data with staff and parents, supports community projects, assists with disability-related information gathering, and attends required meetings and trainings. Maintains confidentiality, organization, professionalism, and data accuracy while performing general administrative duties.

Manages office operations and provides administrative support to Adult Services leadership. Oversees billing records, filing systems, requisitions, petty cash, inventory, correspondence, budgets, grant reports, contracts, purchase orders, and procedure updates. Supervises staff, ensures compliance and accuracy, maintains confidentiality, and promotes office productivity and a positive work environment.
