As a Senior Controls Engineer, you'll lead equipment conceptual development, provide technical leadership, create system architectures, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Serve as primary systems engineer for critical utility subsystems in R&D: integrate mechanical, electrical, and software components; lead hands-on troubleshooting/commissioning; author specifications and requirements; manage schedules and budgets; standardize workflows and SOPs; drive cross-functional alignment among ME, EE, and SW teams.

Develop distributed backend systems, APIs, and services for data acquisition, access, and processing. Write maintainable Golang services and a Python client library, optimize ingestion and retrieval performance, and collaborate with physicists and engineers to translate requirements into software. The role supports simulation and experimental data analysis in a fusion-energy environment and may involve safety-sensitive work, occasional travel, nights, weekends, or on-call coverage.

Design and implement mission-critical state estimation and control algorithms, simulation models, and software infrastructure for real-time and offline testbeds. Develop production-quality software, offline data analysis tools, and integrated test plans for SPARC control software. Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate software into hardware and software testbeds, while improving company-wide tooling and development processes.

Lead finance systems, master data governance, and planning application initiatives. Own ERP and planning tool administration, integrations, data quality, and reporting. Drive ERP/EPM implementations, process improvements, testing, training, and cross-functional change management to scale finance operations.

Design, build, and commission high-voltage systems and test equipment for superconducting magnets. Lead and execute R&D test campaigns, perform analyses, develop instrumentation and DAQ, document results, and present findings to engineering and physics teams while collaborating across manufacturing, procurement, and integration teams.

Design, implement, and verify production-quality control software for real-time and PLC platforms. Integrate software with hardware and testbeds, develop operator interfaces, improve developer tooling, and collaborate across engineering teams to meet functional requirements for advanced R&D equipment.

Manage tactical production and procurement planning to support ramp-up in volume; translate engineering BOMs into actionable plans; align suppliers, supply chain, and manufacturing schedules; monitor supply risk, communicate blockers, negotiate resource allocation, and create tools/process improvements.

Coordinate end-to-end onboarding and training for new hires: manage pre-onboarding logistics, greet and badge cohorts, lead facility tours, configure core apps, track training progress in Docebo, coordinate schedules with stakeholders, distribute PPE, resolve onboarding issues, and provide People Ops administrative support and employee inquiries.

Serve as SME for dimensional management and inspection strategy for HTS magnet production. Translate GD&T into manufacturable requirements, architect inspection systems, lead MSA/Gage R&R and SPC efforts, disposition NCRs with risk-informed decisions, create PFMEAs and quality plans, mentor QC inspectors, and stabilize processes through capability analysis to enable SPARC project production.
