As a Quality Engineering Intern at Firefly Aerospace, you will assist the Quality team with investigations, inspections, and process improvements in aerospace manufacturing, gaining hands-on experience and exposure to quality management systems.

Perform trajectory planning, state estimation, maneuver design, and Monte Carlo analysis for LEO and cislunar missions. Develop flight dynamics software, model high-fidelity spacecraft dynamics, build data pipelines and visualization tools, validate models via V&V and testing, support real-time operations, and author technical documentation.

This role involves designing and managing fluid systems for launch sites and production equipment, including P&IDs, installation, testing, and maintenance of systems.

Design, analyze, test, and operate in-space propulsion hardware (main and attitude engines, valves, tanks). Lead development, qualification, and acceptance testing, create manufacturing and integration processes, perform flight operations, identify risks and trade studies, and develop automation and test data analysis tools while collaborating across disciplines.

Lead design, analysis, development, and qualification of payload segments and mechanical spacecraft interfaces. Produce CAD, drawings, perform FEA and hand calculations, define tests to industry standards, support builds/integration, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with cross-functional teams and customers.

Design, analyze, develop, and qualify payload segments and mechanical interfaces for launch vehicles. Produce CAD, drawings, and documentation; perform structural, thermal, and tolerance analyses; lead testing and qualification to aerospace standards; support integration, producibility, and customer interfaces; mentor junior engineers and travel up to 20%.

Lead design, analysis, test, and qualification of spacecraft fluid and propulsion subsystems from concept through flight. Own requirements, CAD/analysis, hardware development, integration, and test; coordinate manufacturing and operations; perform trade studies, risk identification, and data-driven decisions; develop automation and test-analysis tools; support flight and launch campaigns and troubleshoot fluid system operations.

Responsible for end-to-end design, analysis, testing, and operation of spacecraft fluid and propulsion systems. Lead CAD/analysis, drive test campaigns, support vehicle operations, collaborate with manufacturing, and reduce system complexity to maximize reliability.

Perform structural analysis for spacecraft, launch vehicles, and ground support using hand calculations and FEA (ANSYS, NX Nastran). Develop test requirements, validate models with test data, review analyses, define material properties and part changes, and write strength and stability margins to meet program safety factors.

Lead and grow the spacecraft ground software organization, set long-term architecture and technical vision, oversee development and operations of command/telemetry/mission planning systems, coordinate across engineering and operations, and ensure mission-ready, secure, and scalable ground software for launch and on-orbit activities.
