Supports investment portfolio operations through daily cash, position, and transaction reconciliations; researches and resolves discrepancies; monitors investment transactions, pricing, reference data, and outsourced-provider deliverables; coordinates with custodians, investment managers, accounting, treasury, and service providers; prepares reports and strengthens operational controls and processes.

Prepares investment accounting audit schedules, rollforwards, cash flow reconciliations, investment and fair value footnotes, consolidation workpapers, and data validation. Supports deferred gain/loss analysis, intercompany reconciliations, audit requests, and process improvement initiatives. The role requires strong accounting fundamentals, GAAP knowledge, analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Manages investment accounting operations, including ledger activities, close processes, reconciliations, cash management, journal entries, investment analysis, and operational reporting. Leads process improvements, automation, documentation, special projects, and investment onboarding initiatives. Supervises and develops operations accountants while ensuring accurate workflows, timely reporting, and effective collaboration across management and accounting teams.

Manages relationships with financial advisors by providing operational, product, platform, and compliance support. Resolves complex inquiries, coordinates cross-functional escalations, supports advisor onboarding, delivers training, and identifies improvements to workflows and systems. The role also gathers advisor feedback, promotes best practices, and helps enhance advisor productivity, satisfaction, and business growth.

Leads accounting policy development and maintenance under U.S. GAAP and Statutory Accounting Principles. Monitors FASB, NAIC, AICPA, and other standards, advises on complex transactions, authors technical accounting memoranda, and implements new standards. Builds AI-enabled research, documentation, knowledge-management, reporting, and workflow automation tools. Develops training, supports continuous improvement, collaborates across finance, and guides junior staff.

Provides technical leadership and solution architecture for annuity products, integrating vendor policy administration systems with internal platforms. Owns architecture roadmaps, vendor evaluations, release coordination, testing automation, technical debt reduction, incident response, quarterly planning, and process automation. Partners with business, engineering, QA, data, and vendor teams; mentors engineers and occasionally develops prototypes or resolves complex technical issues.

Manages investment accounting reporting and audit activities across multiple entities, including financial statement disclosures, rollforward schedules, audit requests, consolidation accounting, controls, and regulatory reporting. Leads external audit coordination, partners with accounting operations, improves reporting processes, and manages a team of reporting and audit accountants. Requires strong GAAP, consolidation, analytical, communication, and advanced Excel skills.

Supports the Accounting Policy team through technical accounting research, regulatory tracking, AI-enabled knowledge repository development, PBBD initiatives, policy memo preparation, and process documentation. The intern gains exposure to U.S. GAAP, statutory accounting, investment accounting, financial reporting, and actuarial impacts while collaborating cross-functionally. This flexible, multi-semester role is designed for current full-time students and may be performed remotely or in a hybrid office setting.
