Lead and run Alpaca's data governance and data security program across the lakehouse and analytics stack. As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll design and build scalable market data systems, improve API architecture, and enhance overall system performance, contributing to Alpaca's infrastructure for trading financial assets.

Manage daily crypto customer activity and trading operations, including executions, exceptions, account onboarding/KYC, cash management, and general ledger reconciliation. Support AML investigations, drive process improvements, communicate with partners, and handle ad-hoc projects within a distributed, remote team working core hours around 9am–5pm PT.

Embed with brokerage operations to observe and replace manual workflows with auditable automations and UIs. Design, build, deploy, monitor, and run production systems; instrument outcome metrics; collaborate with compliance, security, and domain experts; own full lifecycle including CI/CD, on-call, and incident response.

Design, implement, and maintain scalable brokerage systems and middle/back-office services (gRPC microservices, React admin UI). Lead regional recruitment and reliability, mentor engineers, act as incident commander, collaborate with global teams, troubleshoot issues, and build solutions supporting multi-language/currency markets and regulatory requirements.
