Engineering Interns assist with process and solution design, product development, engineering research, project execution, safety compliance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement. They collaborate with cross-functional teams at Baton Rouge and Geismar, Louisiana sites to improve manufacturing processes and support advanced materials and chemical solutions. Candidates must be pursuing an engineering bachelor’s degree and meet U.S. person eligibility requirements under export control regulations.

Supports the Corporate Development team and Chief Development Officer through market and competitive research, business analysis, strategic initiative coordination, executive presentations, project tracking, meeting preparation, calendar and travel management, and confidential administrative support. Uses AI and Microsoft 365 tools to improve research, reporting, productivity, and workflow efficiency while coordinating with stakeholders across the organization.

Lead R&D and application development for polyurethane and polyisocyanurate foam technologies. Provide advanced formulation, processing, and performance expertise; solve customer technical challenges; guide innovation and project plans; support intellectual property and industry activities; analyze technical data; develop customer implementation guidance; and mentor scientists and engineers while connecting technical solutions to commercial growth.

Serves as the primary HR partner for an R&D site and broader R&D teams. Advises leaders on talent strategy, workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, employee relations, performance management, engagement, succession planning, and organizational change. Supports a union-represented workforce in partnership with Labor Relations, uses workforce data to inform decisions, and collaborates across HR functions in a matrixed organization.

Supports the global trade compliance program across U.S. and Canadian customs operations, including broker management, customs entry review, HTS classification, country-of-origin determinations, free trade agreements, audits, and SAP GTS improvements. Assists with ITAR and EAR export compliance, restricted-party screening, export documentation, stakeholder guidance, and training. Partners with Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, and Legal to mitigate regulatory risk and improve compliance processes.

Supports supply continuity and inventory availability by developing supply plans aligned with demand, production capacity, and inventory targets. Monitors inventory, forecasts, supplier performance, purchase orders, replenishment recommendations, and supply risks. Coordinates with procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and demand planning teams to resolve shortages and constraints. Maintains planning data, analyzes supply chain KPIs, participates in S&OP, and supports inventory optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.

Provides process engineering expertise in a 24/7 manufacturing facility, optimizing safety, quality, yield, efficiency, energy use, and reliability. Leads continuous improvement, troubleshooting, MOC reviews, RCAs, productivity projects, sustainability initiatives, emissions monitoring, and process scale-up from prototype to commercialization. Supports operations, manages vendors, mentors engineers, and delivers capital and non-capital improvements. Requires engineering experience in chemical, petroleum, polymer, or manufacturing environments.

Leads process automation engineering and advanced control initiatives across chemical manufacturing facilities. Manages greenfield and brownfield projects from design through commissioning, startup, and stabilization; configures and migrates control systems; oversees vendors and testing; and develops optimization solutions using advanced process control and real-time optimization. Assesses control-system performance, lifecycle, cybersecurity, and reliability while partnering with operations, engineering, finance, and site teams to deliver measurable gains in throughput, yield, energy efficiency, quality, and cost.

Owns and advances the Hydrofluoric Acid and BF3 Catalyst product portfolio through lifecycle management, strategic initiative execution, SKU rationalization, performance analysis, S&OP support, inventory planning, root cause analysis, and regulatory compliance. Coordinates sales, engineering, quality, production, supply chain, finance, and customer support teams while maintaining product documentation and supporting customer communications.

Leads reliability engineering and Utilities & Solvent Recovery operations at an industrial manufacturing site. Develops asset reliability strategies, resolves recurring equipment failures, supports modifications and capital projects, and oversees utility infrastructure, emissions controls, maintenance, and engineering personnel. Partners with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and HSE to maintain safe, compliant, efficient production, minimize downtime and costs, optimize energy use, and provide technical support during equipment or process failures.
