As a Consultant in Program Underwriting, you'll underwrite complex Workers' Compensation programs, assess risks, and collaborate with various teams to ensure profitability and compliance while maintaining relationships with program partners.

Serve as a strategic legal advisor for auto, powersports, and RV physical damage claims and repair ecosystems. Counsel on high-risk, complex matters; translate legal considerations into practical business solutions; advise on partnerships, total loss, labor rates, parts utilization, managed repair networks. Support innovation and AI initiatives, lead strategic negotiations, and mentor junior attorneys.

Manage and underwrite complex surety business within a territory, build agency relationships, drive sales and profitability, analyze risk and financials, develop business plans, cross-sell enterprise products, mentor peers, and ensure service and underwriting standards are met.

Develop and maintain relationships with licensed health insurance brokers to sell small-group (2-50) health products. Prospect, execute RFPs, manage full sales cycle, recruit/train producers, support enrollment, monitor agent performance, communicate product/rate changes, use internal sales tracking systems, and travel the territory (up to 20%). Obtain required Life/A&H license(s).

Provide advanced life insurance, estate, and business planning consultation to financial professionals; drive sales of Nationwide Life products; design cases, develop compliant educational content, present at industry events, train wholesalers/advisors, monitor legal and tax changes, and collaborate with internal partners to support distribution and marketing.

Build, test, maintain, and enhance life insurance actuarial models to support valuation, pricing, forecasting, asset adequacy, and risk management. Implement new products and regulatory changes, run and review production results, drive automation and process improvements, partner with stakeholders on modeling needs, perform financial reporting, reinsurance analysis, and lead peer reviews and training.

Lead actuarial technology and data strategy, modernize data platforms (Snowflake/Databricks), guide actuarial tools and models, partner with IT and business stakeholders, influence adoption of AI, support pricing, risk analysis, product design reviews, and reporting to senior leadership.

The Senior Trial Attorney handles litigation for insurance defense or subrogation, providing legal services and managing cases with minimal oversight. Responsibilities include trial advocacy, effective communication, relationship building, and mentoring junior attorneys while maintaining a productive caseload.

Lead underwriting of highly complex life insurance cases with autonomous decision authority. Mentor peers, negotiate reinsurance, evaluate medical and financial evidence, apply accelerated and intelligent underwriting strategies, consult with sales and medical leadership, handle large-case reviews and special projects, and represent the company in industry settings.

As a Senior Claims Consultant, you will investigate, evaluate, and resolve insurance claims, ensuring satisfaction while navigating complex legal liabilities.
