Develop and own hardware test assets for drone systems, from requirements and implementation through validation, data collection, troubleshooting, analysis, and engineering recommendations. Collaborate across engineering teams to test circuit boards, avionics, sensors, power systems, and mechanical or electromechanical assemblies. Build mechatronic systems and automation scripts, interpret datasheets, write basic component drivers, and use electrical test equipment.

The role requires multidisciplinary physics knowledge, numerical methods, and programming expertise in Matlab, Python, Julia, Rust, or similar languages.

Responsibilities include assisting on video shoots, coordinating production logistics, cataloging footage, monitoring social performance and sentiment, updating content calendars, writing, supporting events, and developing content ideas. The intern collaborates with communications, marketing, brand, customer success, and community teams while building a professional portfolio.

Develop and test embedded firmware for Zipline vehicles, batteries, chargers, and ground systems. Work hands-on with hardware, sensors, power electronics, logs, test equipment, and automated safety tests. Own a scoped project through validation, investigate real-world issues, and collaborate with electrical, mechanical, systems, and test engineers under mentorship.

Design, build, test, and validate mechanical systems for autonomous drone delivery. Develop CAD parts and assemblies, prototypes, electro-mechanical testers, and reliability tests; evaluate materials and integrated products; investigate failures, document decisions, and collaborate with engineering teams and suppliers. Interns work on projects from concept through field deployment in a hands-on, cross-functional environment.

Design and test mechanical or electrical hardware for long-range autonomous delivery aircraft. Interns own focused projects from problem definition through prototyping, testing, root-cause analysis, and validation. Responsibilities include CAD and engineering analysis, hands-on fabrication and assembly, test design, data analysis, technical documentation, and collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, testing, and operations teams.

Full-time, in-person summer intern supporting Zipline’s Supply Chain Business Operations team. Responsibilities include supply chain best-practice research, program management, reporting, business intelligence, cost and supply continuity analysis, strategy implementation, digital workflow enablement, and KPI tool development. The role partners cross-functionally with analysts, strategists, and software teams to improve supply chain efficiency and growth.

Assist with Hardware-in-the-Loop and flight testing across Zipline’s autonomous delivery systems. Build and improve automated testing pipelines, stress-test off-nominal scenarios, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, execute validation plans, and develop Python or Rust tools for testing workflows. The intern will collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to validate reliability, safety, and quality in complex systems.
