Leads mechanical design projects for launch vehicle and ground systems from concept through implementation. Coordinates technical requirements, develops 3D CAD models and mechanical, fluid, and electrical schematics, and performs structural, dynamic, and system performance analyses using hand calculations and FEM. Presents designs and project updates to engineering and cross-functional teams, ensuring functionality, feasibility, safety, and timely delivery.

Designs and improves manufacturing operations systems for Terran R production. Responsibilities include analyzing safety, quality, productivity, logistics, and ergonomics; developing capacity plans, layouts, material flow strategies, metrics, dashboards, SOPs, and workflow designs; and implementing process enhancements, automation pilots, and data integrity improvements. The role partners cross-functionally to optimize scalable operations using Lean Six Sigma, simulations, and data analysis.

Develop and optimize launch and orbital trajectory simulations for Terran R customer missions. The engineer will build software tooling, lead interdisciplinary vehicle and mission trade analyses, maintain trajectory and vehicle requirements, and collaborate across Vehicle Engineering. The role requires hands-on work with complex simulations, rocketry or space systems, and end-to-end ownership in a fast-paced startup environment.

Supports manufacturing operations engineering by improving safety, quality, productivity, logistics, ergonomics, capacity, material flow, and workforce efficiency. Develops operational metrics, dashboards, audit tools, standard operating procedures, layouts, and workflow designs. Uses data analysis, simulations, Lean Six Sigma, and process enhancements to scale rocket manufacturing operations. Collaborates across technical and operations teams and contributes to automation pilots and data integrity improvements.

Performs materials and processes prototyping, test coupon design and fabrication, testing, machining, and documentation for aerospace high-temperature composites and heatshields. Troubleshoots processing challenges, supports laboratory operations, shares technical expertise, and mentors team members. The role requires extensive hands-on experience with composite fabrication, adhesives, vacuum infusion, furnace operations, and CNC machining, with optional experience using advanced thermal, mechanical, and chemical testing instruments.
