Entry-level systems engineer working onsite to design, architect, test, integrate, and qualify GPS receiver systems for military applications. Responsibilities span requirements, design, test development, integration, qualification, and customer support while collaborating with cross-functional teams and adhering to systems engineering processes.

Design and develop state-of-the-art optical systems for airborne and space instruments, lead optical sub-system development and alignment, procure and validate optical components, perform hands-on hardware work and analysis, contribute to proposals/RFIs/white papers, present at design reviews, and collaborate across disciplines.

Provide Linux system administration for ARL-DSRC HPC environment: maintain Linux application/license servers, VMs, and clusters; coordinate with network admins; install and tune software; manage accounts and storage allocations; develop policies, IA compliance and system documentation; support installation, testing, and ongoing maintenance of HPC systems; forecast resource needs and recommend scheduling/load-balancing improvements. Occasional after-hours emergency response required.

Design and certify Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) and Special Test Equipment from concept through delivery. Perform CAD modeling and design analysis, interface with analysis teams, support manufacturing/assembly/testing, manage requirements and risks, provide technical oversight of subcontracts, and support sustaining engineering and process improvements.

Lead supplier quality for electronic assemblies: assess suppliers, drive corrective/preventive actions, apply APQP/PPAP and IPC/AS standards, perform first article inspections (AS9102), use data and 8D for continuous improvement, and travel to suppliers (~50%).

Lead and manage a Systems Engineering team across Mission Engineering, Core Systems Engineering, or Mission Integration. Define and enforce SE processes, lead cross-functional teams, oversee training and career development, support enterprise best practices, and maintain stakeholder relationships. Provide leadership, planning, and executional oversight while ensuring security and on-site engagement.

Lead supplier quality for PWB/PCB suppliers: audit and assess processes, drive failure analysis and corrective actions, perform source and first-article inspections (AS9102), use supplier metrics to improve quality, and support PPAP/FAI and continuous improvement toward zero defects.

Lead a team of five system administrators to maintain Linux-based multi-user systems, VMs, clusters, and application/license servers. Perform system administration, performance tuning, storage allocation, IA compliance documentation, installation/integration/testing of HPC systems, and recommend resource scheduling/load balancing. Coordinate with network admins and respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.

Lead and approve flight test team activities to plan, coordinate and execute a complex developmental flight test program for F-35 STOVL and Carrier Variant aircraft. Develop governance, manage multi-company/government teams, oversee technical reviews, flight clearances, safety and risk assessments, train and mentor engineers, control costs, and interface with industry and military partners and customers.

Support USAF ICBM weapon system sustainment by applying systems engineering and MBSE (SysML/UML/UAF) to requirements, architecture, and interface definition; guide MBSE program development, create training/materials, and collaborate with project teams to optimize sustainment and acquisition across the system lifecycle.
