Responsibilities include troubleshooting, process optimization, safety and risk assessments, engineering reviews, operating-limit development, technical assurance, brownfield project support, startup readiness, and performance improvement. The role develops engineering standards and simulation tools, audits calculations and models, supports incident investigations, mentors engineers, and collaborates across operations, maintenance, projects, safety, regulatory, contractors, and suppliers.

Serve as the instrumentation and controls subject matter expert for plant design, installation, commissioning, and operations. Troubleshoot controls logic and communications, validate cause-and-effect systems and complex loops, and support safe, reliable plant performance.
