Eight-week summer internship supporting accounting and finance activities within a real estate development company. Responsibilities include cross-functional collaboration, research and analysis, operational process improvement, project meetings, brainstorming, and preparing a final presentation. Interns gain exposure to construction management, property management, interior design, hospitality, and marketing while receiving mentorship and networking opportunities.

Assists with multifamily property operations, including tenant relations, rent collection, lease compliance, maintenance coordination, budgeting, invoice approval, CAM reconciliations, variance reporting, and supervision of property staff. Supports leasing activities and tenant retention while ensuring property rules and operational processes are followed.

Manages treasury accounting activities, including money market accounts, transfers, reconciliations, journal entries, interest allocation schedules, credit card processes, and financial reporting accuracy. Investigates discrepancies, reviews transactions across accounting systems, reconciles balance sheet and P&L accounts to the general ledger, and supports Treasury management with reports and internal processes.

Processes and verifies invoices, check requests, expense reports, electronic payments, and check runs. Posts transactions, reconciles accounts payable activity, reviews aging reports, resolves discrepancies, maintains vendor and 1099 records, prepares reports, supports month-end close and audits, and responds to vendor inquiries across multiple real estate development projects.

The Senior Staff Accountant reviews financial statements and ledgers, performs reconciliations, investigates variances, manages an outsourced accounting team, and leads monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. The role supports financial reporting, budgets, forecasts, tax documentation, compliance reviews, and hospitality operations analysis. It requires strong accounting knowledge, GAAP expertise, advanced Excel skills, and proficiency with hospitality accounting software.

Oversee preparation, review, and distribution of consolidated financial statements for real estate entities. Support month-end and year-end close, loan covenant reporting, investor equity management, audits, budgeting, US GAAP compliance, accounting policy development, and close-process improvement. Liaise with lenders, investors, management, and external auditors while supervising outsourced accounting support.

Manages daily operations, leasing, financial performance, resident relations, staffing, compliance, and reporting for four multifamily properties. Performs portfolio-wide move-out audits, refunds, write-offs, collections coordination, payroll deduction postings, invoice approvals, employee file audits, and budget support. Travels routinely between properties and across the East and West Coasts to cover vacancies, stabilize underperforming sites, conduct audits, and provide corporate management support.
