Assist the Chief Engineer in operating, maintaining, and repairing vessel systems (diesel engines, generators, refrigeration, electrical, hydraulic, pumps, conveyors). Help with fuel transfers, inventory control, logs and regulatory reporting, safety oversight, LOCK OUT-TAG procedures, and emergency direction. May work in the factory processing fish up to eight hours per shift and perform physically demanding, long-duration at-sea duties in remote locations.

Direct and oversee operation, maintenance, and repair of vessel systems (engines, generators, refrigeration, hydraulics, electrical, pumps, conveyor systems). Maintain logs, inventory, fuel and refrigerant transfers, enforce safety/lockout procedures, train engineering crew, coordinate shipyard projects, and respond to technical emergencies while working extended shifts at sea in remote conditions.
