Translate engineer knowledge into reliable procedures, manage documentation standards and revisions, map deliverables to federal requirements, and ensure documents pass review for completeness, formatting, and information handling. The role also improves document findability, reduces repeated engineering questions, and keeps documentation aligned with changing systems.

Support and engineer mobile device and video conferencing environments for distributed CBP operations. Responsibilities include device enrollment, provisioning, policy management, updates, endpoint configuration, conferencing room support, troubleshooting over constrained networks, lifecycle and licensing management, incident resolution, standards development, and coordination with network, cloud, security, and field deployment teams.

Lead CBP’s insider threat monitoring program by overseeing alert analysis, case escalation, detection tuning, privacy-proportional monitoring, and handoffs to incident response, digital forensics, HR, legal, and security partners. Improve detection based on case outcomes while ensuring investigations are consistent, well documented, and appropriately closed.

Owns federal system authorization, security posture, and remediation for CBP systems. ISSOs manage authorization decisions, control implementation, POA&Ms, security reviews, and documentation. Security engineers harden, monitor, and remediate systems, develop secure configurations and tooling, and address findings at their root causes. Leads oversee security engineering standards and accountability. The role requires collaboration with network, cloud, deployment, and government security teams in a documentation-heavy RMF environment.
