Lead manufacturing engineering at a shipyard to ensure production-ready vessel construction, manage engineering staff, optimize tooling and processes, drive continuous improvement, coordinate cross-functional production and design teams, and ensure compliance with quality, safety, and schedule targets.

Design, implement, and deploy software for autonomous maritime platforms and edge devices. Work on navigation, perception, control, sensor integration, and networking. Build APIs and interfaces to onboard hardware and cloud services, collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, and support field tests and government demonstrations.

Create and maintain detailed 3D models and 2D production drawings (GD&T, tolerances, materials) for marine/defense mechanical systems. Support design for manufacturability, maintain CAD libraries, collaborate with engineers and fabricators, iterate from field test feedback, and ensure compliance with DoD/MIL-SPEC requirements for prototyping and production.

Design, integrate, and test auxiliary and propulsion support systems for autonomous surface vessels, including fuel, cooling, HVAC, hydraulics, piping, and auxiliary machinery. Create layouts, select components, run system analyses and tests, support builds, troubleshoot, and improve designs for harsh maritime environments.

Produce and maintain clear, standards-compliant technical documentation for autonomous surface vessels by collaborating with engineers and product teams, translating complex technical concepts for end users, and updating materials per feedback and DoD guidelines.

Design, implement, and maintain embedded systems software for autonomous surface vessels. Integrate with hardware, implement control and sensor-fusion algorithms, optimize communications for low-bandwidth/high-latency links, test and validate software, perform debugging and code reviews, and document designs for compliance.

Perform dimensional control and high-accuracy inspections on autonomous surface vessels using laser trackers and total stations. Develop measurement procedures, verify alignments to GD&T and naval standards, support sea trials, document results, and drive process improvements with engineering and production teams.

Lead electrical infrastructure design, standards, and construction for industrial facilities. Own project programming, equipment sizing, RFPs, third-party design reviews, field commissioning, and small-project design management; travel ~10%.

Develop and maintain dimensional control systems for large ship structures, establish measurement standards and tolerances, implement metrology (laser scanning, total stations), integrate as-built data with digital models, support production for accurate block assembly and erection, perform root-cause analysis of fit-up issues, and coordinate with welding, QA, and design teams to reduce rework and ensure predictable modular construction.
