Leads engineering quality and design risk activities for commercial vehicle chassis systems. Responsibilities include moderating DFMEAs, identifying and mitigating safety-critical failure modes, developing component and system specifications, managing requirements and special characteristics, auditing supplier components, tracking quality actions and KPIs, and influencing cross-functional engineering teams before design release.

Leads OEM quality engineering across truck manufacturing facilities, supervising quality technicians and resolving customer complaints, defects, campaigns, and containment actions. Applies engineering analysis, root-cause methods, corrective action validation, audits, and quality metrics to address engine, powertrain, electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing issues. Coordinates cross-functional teams, customers, suppliers, logistics, and plant organizations while ensuring campaign execution, resource availability, documentation, and continuous improvement. The role is onsite in Detroit and requires regular travel to OEM locations.

Supports cost engineering for truck parts and tooling by calculating bottom-up costs using technical specifications, CAD models, part teardowns, materials, manufacturing processes, labor, and regional inputs. Prepares cost assessments and presentations, compares parts, identifies cost optimization opportunities, and improves costing methods and templates. Learns company IT systems and Daimler cost analysis methodologies while collaborating with global and cross-functional teams.

Integrates truck technology software across active safety, driver experience, vehicle controls, upfit, powernet, and architecture domains. Translates product definitions into technical specifications, supports vehicle electrical programming, diagnoses test-vehicle software issues, resolves manufacturing and configuration problems, and releases hardware, software, ECU assemblies, and vehicle configuration logic for production. The role coordinates between global software teams, regional engineering, manufacturing, product strategy, and customers.

Analyzes pricing, sales, cost, and competitive data to support pricing decisions. Builds analytical models, dashboards, and reports; evaluates pricing scenarios, discounts, promotions, margins, and financial impact; performs data quality checks; monitors post-price-change performance; and provides recommendations and ad hoc analyses. Collaborates with Pricing, Marketing, Sales, Product, Finance, and Analytics teams while improving pricing tools, processes, and data quality.

Develop and implement global sourcing strategies for powertrain components and services.
