The Mechanical Engineer III - Test will conduct component integration, analysis, and testing. The role involves creating designs, reports, project management, and compliance with security clearance requirements.

Design, program, commission, and maintain PLC and robotic control systems for solid rocket motor and energetic materials production. Develop structured text code, electrical cabinets, HMI/SCADA, plant networking (4-20 mA, Ethernet), and machine-vision/ML optimization. Lead automation solution selection and deployment, apply Lean/Six Sigma, ensure NEC/UL508A and hazardous-area compliance, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and mentor junior engineers toward leading the automation and controls group.

Lead development of an AI-native GEOINT mission management platform that translates operator intent into physically valid collection plans. Own technical vision, build LLM-powered agents, integrate orbital mechanics and sensor models, develop MCP servers and evaluation suites, mentor an engineering team, and drive prototype-to-production for accredited IC/DoD deployments.

Lead scheduling, budgeting, and resource coordination for spacecraft and payload development programs. Manage integrated schedules, contracts, risk posture, technical proposals, and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of mission-critical space systems.

Develops perception and autonomy software for lunar rover and robotic spacecraft platforms. Responsibilities include stereo vision, LiDAR, sensor fusion, visual-inertial odometry, hazard detection, mapping, localization, motion control, path planning, embedded optimization, flight-software integration, simulation, and automated HIL/SIL testing. The role requires modern C++, Python, Linux production experience, and collaboration across robotics, navigation, and controls systems.

Provides technical leadership for EEE component selection, parts management, qualification, obsolescence and counterfeit-part control across space hardware programs. Maintains ECAD libraries, manages part numbers and data, reviews PCNs and GIDEP alerts, supports quality and configuration management, and coordinates with design, manufacturing, supply chain and reliability teams. The role also addresses component screening, PCB technologies, failure analysis, standardization and production support.

Supports EEE component selection, qualification, parts management, quality control, obsolescence mitigation, standardization, and ECAD library maintenance for space programs. Coordinates with design, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and reliability teams. Reviews product change notices and GIDEP alerts, manages part numbers and data, and ensures component requirements, configuration control, traceability, and applicable space and military standards are met.

Lead and mentor a team of chemical engineers across process design, pilot demonstration, and production scale-up for energetic materials. Drive engineering strategy, resource planning, deliverable review, and compliance in a defense-regulated environment while representing engineering in program reviews and developing talent.

As a Mechanical Engineer III, you will design and analyze systems related to solid rocket motors, perform complex simulations, manage manufacturing processes, and communicate technical solutions effectively while supporting innovative defense technologies.

Responsible for the architecture, design, development, and integration of ISR software systems, leading teams and projects with technical leadership.
