Develop conceptual airframe architecture and parametric structural models for an eVTOL aircraft. Size major components, assess aeroelastic behavior and structural modes, identify governing loads, evaluate composite and metallic configurations, manage packaging and volume allocation, generate structural weight estimates, and track weight margins. The role collaborates closely with vehicle, powertrain, and aerodynamic architects and supports manufacturability, cost, certification, and systems-integration trades.

Design and size aerodynamic surfaces for tiltrotor/eVTOL aircraft using low-fidelity tools and handbook methods. Build drag polars, trim the aircraft across hover, transition, and cruise, estimate range, endurance, speed, and climb performance, and conduct mission-level sizing trades. Provide aerodynamic feedback on configuration, control effectiveness, and stability while collaborating with vehicle and powertrain architects to meet performance requirements.

Lead airframe development from concept through flight test, including structural architecture, material and configuration trades, weight modeling, component sizing, load-path analysis, and requirements verification. Evaluate fuselage, wing, tail, and nacelle structures for performance, manufacturability, and cost. Mentor junior engineers and apply hands-on composite and metallic manufacturing expertise, including nonconformance disposition.

Lead battery management system simulation modeling, develop reduced-order battery and controls models, maintain model libraries, analyze simulation data, and create diagnostics. Validate performance through unit, SIL, and HIL testing; develop test cases and scripts; execute normal and abnormal battery simulations; support BMS software verification, automation, and mission-critical test infrastructure.

Lead product quality engineering for electric aircraft powertrain components and systems. Responsibilities include design validation, inspection planning, First Article Inspections, APQP implementation, PFMEAs, Control Plans, SPC, Material Review Board support, root-cause analysis, CAPA, quality metrics, risk mitigation, training, and FAA conformity inspection support. The role partners with design and manufacturing teams to transition products into production while ensuring aerospace quality, safety, regulatory, and industry compliance.

Owns detailed mechanical design of an electric aircraft engine, integrating the motor, gearbox, inverter, and thermo-lubrication systems. Designs components including gears, shafts, pumps, housings, fasteners, and oil-transfer devices; creates drawings; coordinates supplier manufacturing; performs finite element analysis; leads design reviews; develops validation test setups; and supports prototype builds and testing.

Leads and mentors a team developing flight-critical aerospace software for electric powertrain and motor-control systems. Oversees software development, verification, certification, architecture, testing, DO-178C compliance, SOI audits, and DO-330 tool qualification. Collaborates on certification planning, monitors process KPIs, improves safety and efficiency, and supports team development.
