Provide technical leadership for structural and/or thermal-fluids analysis of aerospace vehicles and propulsion systems. Perform FEA, fatigue, fracture, thermal-stress, CFD, and 1D fluid modeling; validate models against test data; support loads development, anomaly investigations, and nonconforming hardware disposition. Collaborate with design, systems, manufacturing, and test teams while improving analysis methods, mentoring engineers, and supporting safety-critical aerospace systems.

Supports aerospace propulsion system development through requirements definition, verification and qualification planning, risk management, traceability, and MBSE modeling. The role develops system-level plans for solid rocket motors, tracks compliance, reviews test and analysis documentation, integrates engineering models, manages systems engineering tools and processes, and communicates with internal teams, management, and customers. Performs high-fidelity structural and thermal analyses of solid rocket motor components using FEA and analytical modeling. Supports design iterations, material and geometry decisions, test-data correlation, manufacturing feasibility, nonconformance dispositions, failure investigations, design reviews, and continuous improvement. Develops technical documentation and collaborates with design, manufacturing, and test teams across development, qualification, and production programs.

Performs high-fidelity structural, thermal, and dynamic analyses for solid rocket motor components. Develops and validates FEA models using ANSYS, Abaqus, or NASTRAN; correlates models with test data; supports design, manufacturing, qualification, failure investigations, and production. Provides recommendations on geometry, materials, and thermal protection systems, assesses nonconforming hardware, develops engineering processes, and mentors analysis engineers.

Owns instrumentation selection and automated control and data acquisition systems for aerospace propulsion production equipment. Develops cRIO/PXI controllers, LabVIEW applications, PLC integrations, SCADA connectivity, and networked communications. Designs safety-first systems for hazardous fluids, energetics, high pressures, and voltages; supports commissioning, validation, documentation, and equipment standards. Collaborates with manufacturing, test, quality, safety, and product teams from benchtop fixtures through facility-scale systems.

Develops and leads system safety, mission assurance, reliability, and risk-management strategies for rocket motor and propulsion systems. Responsibilities include safety board coordination, hazard classification, risk registers, system-level failure assessments, lifecycle planning, flight-test safety, reliability assessments, and failure investigations. Collaborates with design, testing, manufacturing, mission operations, and program teams, while interfacing with Department of Defense safety review boards.

Perform high-fidelity transient and steady-state thermal analyses for aerospace components and systems under extreme conditions. Develop and validate models using Thermal Desktop, SINDA/FLUINT, and ITRAC; assess insulation, ablative materials, and thermal protection systems; correlate predictions with test data; and support design, manufacturing, testing, failure investigations, and technical documentation.

Analyzes solid rocket motor ballistics and propellant performance, develops and validates computational tools, reviews test data, supports energetic materials testing, investigates failures, and informs design and manufacturing decisions. Presents technical findings to internal teams, government partners, and commercial customers while collaborating across systems, design, and manufacturing functions.

Support solid propellant formulation, mixing, casting, testing, data analysis, and scale-up from laboratory to production. Prepare technical documentation, manufacturing records, and project updates; assist with process improvement, failure analysis, hazard assessments, and safety audits. The role requires hands-on work with hazardous energetic materials and collaboration across engineering and manufacturing teams.

Performs high-fidelity fluids analyses for solid rocket motor products using hand calculations, steady and transient CFD, and 1D modeling. Evaluates test data, correlates analytical models, supports design improvements, and collaborates with design, manufacturing, and test teams. Participates in design reviews, failure investigations, technical documentation, and continuous improvement. Provides mentorship and technical guidance to peers.
