Leads cross-functional technical programs across IonQ’s application platform, developer tools, and compiler roadmap. Translates technical vision into milestones, manages dependencies and risks, maintains planning and tracking systems, exposes technical debt and operational work, and reports data-driven status to senior leadership. The role supports approximately 40 engineers across four teams and requires navigating ambiguity, technical tradeoffs, staffing, customer-facing work, and AI-driven program-management workflows.

Design and integrate complex quantum processing unit chips from requirements through layout and tape-out. Responsibilities include multilayer chip layout, metal-track routing, photonics and CMOS interfaces, specification development with scientists, cross-team feasibility coordination, and independent project ownership. The role requires hands-on IC layout expertise and experience guiding designs into production, with preferred experience in scripted GDSFactory/Python layout generation, Cadence, ion-trap design, photonics, or IC packaging.

Lead the architecture and roadmap for IonQ’s secure software factory. Build and operate production-scale CI/CD platforms, infrastructure-as-code modules, release pipelines, security scanning, dependency management, SBOM and provenance systems, and internal developer platforms. Drive vulnerability remediation, compliance evidence, hybrid infrastructure operations, and agentic automation with appropriate guardrails. Mentor engineers, establish standards, and align Architecture, SRE, Cloud Operations, and Product Development around secure, self-service delivery.

Partners with IonQ leaders on financial analysis, strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, spending controls, and company-wide initiatives. The role supports cross-functional decision-making, improves planning systems, and contributes to investor relations and corporate development activities. It requires strong financial modeling, communication, and analytical skills, with a focus on a rapidly growing quantum technology business.

Develop and operate reliable non-realtime controller software for quantum-computing support hardware. Responsibilities include integrating devices, diagnosing live hardware issues, improving shared frameworks, building simulators and test infrastructure, deploying and observing Linux services, and eliminating systemic fleet failures. The role is hands-on and requires collaboration with software engineers, systems operators, and quantum scientists.

Own the global intercompany accounting process across domestic and international entities. Responsibilities include monthly close, transfer pricing entries, reconciliations, eliminations, foreign currency accounting, legal entity reporting, controls, audits, and technical accounting under US GAAP. The role also designs scalable processes, automates intercompany activities in OneStream, supports new entity integration, and partners with Tax, Treasury, IT, auditors, and international accounting teams.

Prepare month-end journal entries, payroll accruals, general ledger reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet analyses. Maintain fixed asset, prepaid expense, and accrual accounts in compliance with GAAP. Monitor cash activity, support external audits, document internal controls, and collaborate with payroll, equity, vendors, and department leaders on financial reporting and stock-based compensation transactions.

Develop production-grade systems software for trapped-ion quantum computer transport control. Build frameworks that convert ion transport specifications into voltage waveforms for large-scale DAC systems, support physics solvers and simulations, enable runtime calibration and feedforward, and collaborate with scientists and hardware, FPGA, runtime, and electronics teams. The role emphasizes performance-sensitive computing, numerical programming, high-quality code, and cross-disciplinary system architecture.
