The Automation Sales Manager will drive new business by developing customer relationships, closing sales, and meeting profitability budgets while using strong negotiation skills.

Lead and manage customer project order teams (16+ specialists) to plan, execute, monitor, and close projects. Ensure accurate billing, resource coordination, scope control, continuous improvement, and attainment of $150M+ annual sales targets while coaching staff and reporting progress to stakeholders.

Serve as the liaison between customers and vendors on large, time-sensitive projects. Perform order entry, prepare/revise material submittals, handle returns/credits, provide reporting, coordinate deliveries, and execute job lot billing and invoice processing to ensure on-time project performance.

Drive territory sales by developing new prospects and managing established accounts for electrical products. Meet margin targets, demonstrate products, handle complaints, maintain customer records, support collections, attend trade shows/training, and travel extensively (including overnight) using a personal vehicle reimbursed via FAVR.

Prepare and submit customer quotes from request through delivery by gathering cost data from factories and manufacturers, collaborating with sales and customer service, pricing bills of material, and maintaining accurate, timely quotations to support profitable sales.

Support sales of industrial automation and control products by specifying solutions, recommending inventory, training sales staff/customers, providing technical support and maintenance guidance, and promoting new product updates. Extensive travel and field interaction required.

Participate in formal training and hands-on rotations across sales, logistics, customer service, and project processes. Develop product knowledge of electrical, communications, and security equipment, learn Graybar's sales and distribution process, and prepare to transition into a sales role.

Lead a territory-focused sales team for the Commercial, Institutional and Government vertical to meet sales and margin targets. Develop business and tactical plans, coach sales reps, build customer and supplier relationships, recruit and develop staff, manage a $7M+ budget, and implement training and tools to grow specialty-market revenue.

Sell products and services within an assigned territory by developing new prospects and maintaining customer relationships. Meet gross margin targets, handle complaints, report market conditions, execute sales/merchandise programs, maintain customer records, assist collections, attend trade events, and demonstrate products. Extensive travel and use of personal vehicle required.

Participate in a structured training program to learn Graybar's electrical distribution sales process. Develop product knowledge of electrical, communications, and security equipment and rotate through sales, logistics, customer service, transactional, and project teams. Requires reliable driving, strong communication and teamwork, and a 2- or 4-year degree or equivalent experience.
