As a Staff Software Engineer on the Storage Platform team, you will design distributed storage systems, improve database reliability and performance, build automation for database management, and ensure high availability for user-facing products.

Lead global month-end close and consolidation, ensure US GAAP financial statements, oversee opex accruals, payroll, prepaids, and intercompany accounting. Drive process improvements, automation and ERP/system implementations, maintain SOX controls and audit readiness, and build/scale a high-performing corporate accounting team.

Design, build, and operate distributed data streaming platforms and real-time event processing systems. Scale and secure pipelines using technologies like Kafka, Flink, and Debezium, collaborate with product, data, and ML teams, and improve developer experience through tools and documentation. Mentor engineers and drive architectural decisions for long-term platform reliability.

Design, implement, and operate core distributed storage infrastructure for Postgres, NoSQL, and caching at scale. Lead sharding, query routing, proxy services, connection pooling, multi-region failover, observability, and control-plane automation to improve availability, performance, and cost efficiency.

Build and scale security tooling, automation, and AI-driven agents to detect and remediate threats. Partner with Security and Product Engineering, deploy cloud-native services, participate in design reviews, and join an on-call rotation to maintain critical security services.

Own quality for new features and high-impact product launches by defining test strategies, executing manual, automated, end-to-end, regression, and exploratory testing, and validating frontend and backend functionality. Automate mobile and web test cases across iOS, Android, and web applications, build scalable test coverage, and collaborate with contractor teams on regression cycles while advocating for customer experience.

Leads the global benefits strategy, design, implementation, compliance, renewals, vendor relationships, process automation, and employee experience programs. Oversees health, welfare, retirement, leave, and voluntary benefits across jurisdictions; partners with Legal and Finance; manages M&A benefits due diligence and integration; and builds a high-performing benefits team.

Own the strategy and product roadmap for Robinhood’s third-party integration platform serving registered investment advisors. Prioritize APIs, AI-agent connectivity, developer tools, authentication, governance, and partner onboarding. Lead technical and commercial relationships with PMS, CRM, and AI-native advisor technology vendors. Translate partner needs into engineering requirements, manage integration prioritization and access frameworks, and align integration initiatives with Robinhood’s next-generation custody platform.

Lead technical accounting research and conclusions for new products and strategic transactions. Evaluate novel fact patterns (including crypto/digital assets), draft position papers, advise Product/Deal teams, and collaborate with Legal, Tax, Finance, Financial Reporting, and auditors to ensure accurate accounting, disclosures, and controls (ASC 606, 350-60, 810, 815).

Provides customer support through chat, email, and phone while building financial services expertise and completing FINRA licensing. Delivers empathetic, product-focused assistance, resolves customer concerns, identifies service improvements, and represents the customer voice. Participates in a 26-week training and proficiency program to become a registered representative. The role requires schedule flexibility, including potential evening and weekend shifts, with regular in-person office attendance.
