Design, build, and operate WHOOP’s data platform infrastructure, including lakehouse, warehouse, and streaming systems. Improve performance, reliability, cost efficiency, observability, and developer experience across AWS-based data systems. Develop internal tools, APIs, automation, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code practices. Partner with data, ML, analytics, and software engineering teams to support scalable workflows, governance, and production excellence while using AI-assisted development tools effectively.

Lead the strategy, roadmap, and execution of WHOOP’s Sleep product experience. Translate physiological data and algorithm outputs into trusted, actionable member insights, recommendations, coaching, and behavior-change experiences. Partner with engineering, machine learning, research science, and design teams; integrate Sleep capabilities across Recovery, Healthspan, and coaching; and define metrics for trust, engagement, comprehension, habit formation, and behavior change.

Provides personalized phone, email, and chat support for WHOOP members, troubleshooting hardware, mobile app, and data-insight issues. Documents interactions, meets service and satisfaction metrics, identifies recurring problems, escalates issues appropriately, and shares member feedback to improve cross-functional experiences. Requires empathy, resilience, strong communication, adaptability, analytical troubleshooting, and comfort in a phone-intensive onsite role.

Build and operate secure, scalable AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure using Terraform. Manage IAM, access controls, CI/CD automation, monitoring, backups, logging, compliance guardrails, and reliability tooling. Collaborate across platform, product, and data science teams, troubleshoot distributed systems, participate in incident response and audits, and improve platform reliability, performance, cost efficiency, and developer experience.

Design, prototype, test, and document complex mechanical components for WHOOP hardware products from concept through manufacturing release. Create 3D files, drawings, BOMs, and ECOs; collaborate with suppliers and contract manufacturers; support validation plans, DOE, root-cause analysis, and manufacturing execution. The role requires cross-functional communication, technical risk management, and up to 20% international travel to manufacturing partners.

Leads and mentors a cross-functional engineering team building platforms spanning embedded systems, mobile, backend, and third-party services. Defines technical strategy, architecture, and scalable solutions for research initiatives; partners with stakeholders, manages vendors, maintains development and testing best practices, contributes technically as a player-coach, and supports team growth and delivery.

Leads cross-functional manufacturing programs from process changes and equipment qualification through production scaling. Coordinates engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, factory, test, quality, and contract manufacturer teams. Manages schedules, milestones, risks, contingencies, pilot builds, validation runs, and issue resolution while improving quality, yield, throughput, test performance, and material flow. Communicates program status to technical and executive stakeholders and supports scalable program-management processes. Requires international travel up to 25% and work from the Boston headquarters.

Design, prototype, and test mechanical components for early-stage wearable hardware projects. Develop manufacturing-ready designs, evaluate technologies and manufacturing methods, support validation testing and design of experiments, and operate prototyping equipment such as 3D printers and CNC machines. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, contract manufacturers, and senior engineers to improve product quality, performance, and manufacturability.
