Leads engineering teams evolving Flywire’s payment architecture and distributed systems. Responsibilities include technical strategy, people management, hiring, performance development, resource allocation, AI-enabled workflow automation, design reviews, TDD, CI/CD, and cross-functional roadmap alignment with Product, QA, SRE, and business stakeholders. The role requires substantial software engineering and engineering management experience, plus hands-on exposure to payment platforms or fintech systems.

Own and scale secure cloud infrastructure for data and AI platforms across AWS and GCP. Lead Terraform-based infrastructure as code, reliability and observability programs, GitLab CI/CD automation, Docker and Fargate deployments, and platform enablement for Airflow, dbt, streaming, and AI workloads. Establish security, access-control, cost-governance, monitoring, alerting, and SLO practices while partnering with data engineering teams.

Provide personalized support, conduct proactive outreach, follow up on unresolved requests, handle escalations, and collaborate across departments. Collect and report customer feedback, identify recurring issues, assist with data trend analysis, mentor newer associates, and support training while adapting to changing processes and customer needs.

Manage client integrations from discovery through go-live for Flywire payments products. Lead workshops, configure portals, support API/checkout integrations, troubleshoot, provide post-launch support, document processes, and relay client feedback to product teams.

Build and maintain high-volume payment services, write testable code, improve reliability and performance, investigate production issues, collaborate across product and engineering teams, and explore AI-enabled engineering tools to boost productivity.

Lead enterprise architecture strategy for a global payments platform. Establish architecture standards, modernize legacy systems, guide cloud-native and microservices adoption, mentor architects, enable governance, advise the CTO on technology investments, and drive platform scalability, security, and compliance across global engineering teams.

Lead end-to-end revenue forecasting and financial planning for payment volume, revenue, cost of sales, and gross profit. Build and maintain complex transaction and SaaS revenue models, perform variance analysis, extract and visualize large datasets (SQL/Python/R/Looker), automate reporting (Excel/VBA/Python/AI), and partner with Sales, Marketing, Investor Relations, and Analytics to inform strategy and executive decision-making.

Lead global payer-facing payment experiences and loyalty strategy. Own checkout, hosted payment pages, notifications, localization, and UX; drive conversion, retention, and platform modernization; build and lead a global product organization and deliver AI-enabled personalization.

Lead and build an Enterprise AI organization to define strategy, platforms, governance, and standards. Deliver scalable AI platforms (LLM gateways, model registries, vector DBs), enable business adoption, embed responsible AI and compliance, partner across Security, Legal, Finance, and drive measurable AI use cases and ROI while managing a small, cross-functional AI architecture and engineering team.
