Provides direct legal representation in humanitarian immigration matters, including asylum, SIJS, U-visas, T-visas, VAWA petitions, and removal proceedings. Conducts legal research, develops case strategies, prepares filings, appears before courts and agencies, supports legal clinics, mentors counsel, and participates in outreach and advocacy. Maintains case-management data, collaborates with community partners, and travels throughout Southern New Mexico and the El Paso area. Regular in-person work in the Las Cruces office is required.

The Senior Accountant leads month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, grant and contract accounting, budget monitoring, invoicing, compliance, and audit coordination. The role supports payroll allocations, internal controls, financial process improvements, and finance team continuity. It also provides training and mentorship to accounting staff while maintaining accurate, confidential records and collaborating with program, administrative, executive, and finance teams.

Supports nonprofit finance operations, including accounts payable and receivable, invoice and payment processing, cash receipts, vendor records, employee reimbursements, credit card reconciliations, month-end close support, financial documentation, and internal controls. The role also responds to vendor and staff inquiries, assists with audits and grant compliance, and supports process improvements. Bilingual English and Spanish communication is required.

Represents detained and non-detained immigrants in removal proceedings, asylum and USCIS matters, bond hearings, appeals, and habeas proceedings. Supervises attorneys, legal assistants, and volunteers; develops pro se resources; conducts detention consultations; coordinates referrals; and participates in rapid-response clinics and immigrant-rights advocacy.
