Own the embedded hardware-software integration for semiconductor inspection and metrology equipment. Design synchronized triggering and acquisition systems, integrate cameras, frame grabbers, motion stages, lasers, and FPGA timing hardware, and develop C/C++ and Python drivers and control layers. Configure instrument PCs and lab networks, debug hardware and software in the lab, support live data streams, and help transition prototypes into maintainable production tools.

Requires hands-on mechatronics or precision-motion experience, nanometer-scale stages and sensors, control engineering, motion-controller scripting, and cross-disciplinary debugging.

Run the measurement-to-results workflow for semiconductor imaging and metrology systems. Design and execute optical scans, configure Python/JAX reconstructions, assess image quality, investigate artifacts and convergence issues, and convert partner test cases into automated workflows. Collaborate closely with optics and hardware engineers to design experiments, improve algorithms, and guide tool development.

Lead system architecture and technical decisions for semiconductor metrology equipment. Translate performance goals into requirements, maintain system budgets, define subsystem interfaces, guide multidisciplinary engineers, and establish verification and integration plans. Drive the product from prototype toward production while developing systems engineering processes. The role requires broad expertise across optics, precision mechanics, controls, electronics, and software, plus strong communication in a fast-moving startup environment.

Own and develop a GPU-accelerated computational imaging engine for phase retrieval and wafer metrology. Improve reconstruction quality, convergence, and robustness; design differentiable forward models, regularization methods, and acquisition support; translate research into tested production code; and optimize performance on large datasets. The role requires strong numerical optimization, Fourier optics, wave-propagation physics, Python array programming, and GPU computing experience.
