Works independently on routine assignments while supporting complex systems under project objectives. Requires a DoD Secret Clearance, U.S. citizenship, networking and systems administration experience, and relevant technical training.

Designs and develops vessel configurations for research and Naval projects aboard the M/V Independence. Responsibilities include conceptual and detailed design, cost estimation, equipment procurement, vessel maintenance planning, shipyard overhaul support, technical proposal development, risk mitigation, and leading teams during onboard construction or repairs. The role requires applying naval architecture, engineering, materials science, maritime regulations, and vessel stability principles while coordinating with government, scientific, and technical stakeholders.

Establishes and verifies compliance with NASA configuration management requirements; maintains configuration identification, control, verification, accounting, documentation, and receipt systems. Processes change requests through evaluation, board review, directives, and closure. Supports control boards and panels through meeting coordination, agendas, minutes, action tracking, archival, and maintenance of decisional materials.
