Supports research engineers with applied research, experiments, testing, sample handling, laboratory equipment maintenance, documentation, inventory management, and reporting of results. Participates in product development and research projects, assists with project goals and financial parameters, and performs manual technical tasks under established procedures. Gathers requirements, pre-qualifies suppliers, issues RFPs and RFQs, evaluates bids, recommends vendors, supports purchase orders and invoice processes, and ensures compliance with company policies and external regulations.

Leads supplier quality assurance for cast-metal and mold-manufacturing suppliers. Responsibilities include supplier qualification and audits, process validation, quality control, PPAP and FMEA review, corrective action and root-cause investigations, metallurgy and dimensional-data review, supplier performance improvement, risk management, and compliance monitoring. The role supports casting feasibility, DFM, continuous improvement, scrap reduction, and supplier change management while providing technical leadership across the supply base.

Develop and implement systems engineering processes for hardware and software programs. Derive, trace, and manage system requirements; coordinate design-change impact assessments; lead stakeholder meetings and milestone reviews; and support risk management, reliability analyses, trade studies, root-cause analysis, infrastructure integration, performance monitoring, and corrective actions. The role may independently manage projects and requires occasional travel up to 25%.

Develops solid rocket motor concepts and refines propellant grain and nozzle designs to meet thrust and burn-time requirements. Optimizes burn rates, thrust curves, and pressure profiles; leads static-fire testing and analyzes motor performance data. Oversees propellant casting, curing, and tooling reviews while collaborating with design, analysis, chemistry, manufacturing, and external partners. Produces technical documentation, engineering drawings, research reports, and project evaluations.

Plans and improves manufacturing methods, facility layouts, workflows, tooling, equipment, and production processes. Analyzes workforce, space, costs, schedules, quality standards, and production capabilities. Coordinates with vendors on equipment and materials, evaluates products against specifications, resolves technical issues, and recommends production improvements. The role works independently, may lead projects, and requires regular movement through manufacturing facilities with up to 25% travel.
