Leads federal legislative and administrative campaigns advancing economic security policies. Develops advocacy strategy, monitors Congress and executive agencies, builds relationships with decision-makers, manages coalitions and advocacy staff, and coordinates grassroots, grasstops, digital, and earned-media pressure campaigns. Serves as a senior organizational leader, spokesperson, fundraiser, and strategic partner while providing legislative intelligence and overseeing consultants and contract lobbyists.

The Senior Director will lead Economic Security California’s policy strategy, advocacy campaigns, coalition-building, legislative engagement, communications, fundraising, budgeting, and organizational growth. The role oversees efforts involving guaranteed income, tax credits, antimonopoly policy, AI regulation, and public options. This leader will recruit and manage staff, cultivate philanthropic and political relationships, serve as the organization’s primary spokesperson, expand California’s statewide presence, and collaborate with national leadership to strengthen the state affiliate model.

Leads human resources and people operations across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, benefits, compliance, communications, performance management, engagement, talent acquisition, and DEI initiatives. Manages strategic People projects, staff surveys, leadership development, recruitment pipelines, and committee programs while advising employees and leaders, improving processes, and ensuring an equitable, high-quality staff experience.
