Paid, on-site internship supporting software quality assurance for insurance processing systems. Responsibilities include executing manual and automated tests, preparing test plans, validating requirements and data changes, reporting defects, tracking testing metrics, and collaborating with business analysts, project managers, and developers. The intern will learn testing methodologies, requirements traceability, test management, and insurance underwriting procedures.

Performs manual and automated testing of software, data changes, and new features supporting insurance processing systems. Develops test plans from requirements, executes tests, tracks traceability and results, reports and retests defects, and measures testing activity. Collaborates with business analysts, project managers, and developers throughout testing and defect resolution. Applies insurance processing knowledge, Texas Department of Insurance regulations, and underwriting guidelines to validate system procedures and identify gaps.

Underwriting Interns support underwriting professionals with data collection, validation, analysis, administrative tasks, training, meetings, and special projects. The role develops knowledge of insurance underwriting fundamentals, guidelines, predictive analytics, and industry practices while requiring organized, detail-oriented work in a collaborative office environment.
