Creates mechanical designs, specifications, calculations, and material lists; reviews hardware requirements and standards compliance; supports CAD, testing, prototyping, suppliers, and engineering changes. The role also maintains parts data, resolves hardware problems, and balances reliability, manufacturability, cost, and customer requirements.

Plans, authors, executes, and maintains manual and automated system-level software tests across the full SDLC. The role validates requirements, performs functional, regression, exploratory, and performance testing, troubleshoots complex issues, documents results, manages defects, and supports customer acceptance testing. It also provides technical guidance, mentors junior staff, contributes to requirements and specifications, supports multidisciplinary teams, and may travel to customer sites and ships.

Maintains hardware product and component data within product lifecycle management processes. Coordinates engineering change requests and notices, manages departmental JIRA issues, and supports product design, prototyping, integration, qualification testing, and external technical requests. Collaborates with hardware engineering, production, and purchasing teams to ensure accurate product database information and configuration management.

Leads the technical delivery of maritime navigation and bridge system projects, managing technical teams, work packages, schedules, costs, resources, risks, quality, security, and customer-facing reviews. Acts as the project’s technical authority, approves engineering documentation, ensures compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements, supports proposals and estimates, and collaborates with project managers to deliver solutions on time and within budget.

Develops, tests, maintains, and delivers C/C++ software modules through the full software development lifecycle. Responsibilities include writing and reviewing code, managing requirements and designs, troubleshooting defects and customer issues, resolving technical challenges, producing documentation, supporting testing and deployment, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. The role also includes mentoring new staff, customer interaction during site or ship visits, occasional travel, and obtaining security clearance.
