Provide HR and OD support within the Council: develop and review HR policy, support change management and organisational design, deliver workshops, analyse HR data, participate in job evaluation and industrial relations, advise managers and trade unions, and lead allocated HR projects to build workforce capability.

Provide project and systems support for Legal Services & Partnerships: maintain bespoke systems, coordinate with corporate ICT for installations/upgrades, deliver user training, perform system administration (licenses, permissions), analyse data and KPIs, run process mapping and quality audits, manage project risks, and produce performance and compliance reports to senior management.

Manage and respond to FOI and Data Protection requests, advise service areas on information governance and security, maintain policies and records, prepare reports, support risk management and data sharing, provide training and mentoring, and assist with sensitive disclosures to police and legal teams.

Provide strategic direction for the Local Plan, performance and budget management, stakeholder engagement, and represent the city externally. Deputise for the Assistant Director and participate in emergency out-of-hours response.

Provide confidential secretarial and administrative support to Elected Members and governance teams. Tasks include diary and meeting management, correspondence, case and records management, committee clerk support, procurement processing, handling sensitive enquiries, maintaining digital filing and website/intranet content, and undertaking research to support decision-making and transparency obligations.
